I remember this being $23 around BF so this is definitely an even better deal.

Not sure I follow that logic. Either way there is a cord from the wall to whatever you are charging. The "tripping hazard" is there regardless.

Regardless, seems like a great price I shouldn't have hesitated on the last time it was posted a week ago.
I'm assuming a power strip is plugged in all the time while a charger is unplugged when not in use.

Should add PPS is supported. Otherwise thanks for the specs, and go DOGE indeed!

Caveat being that there is no listing of the PPS specs so its unknown to what extent it is supported.

Still can't figure out why plug-in cube-style chargers are more popular than corded ones, given how obtrusive the former are and liable to being hit or falling off, and how some of the latter have built-in mini power strips for AC devices, and can be located closer to the devices being charged. Are people just more conditioned to using cubes and so prefer them, the way that people are conditioned to taking phone pictures in portrait mode even though landscape usually makes more sense?

Although, I suppose that you could just buy a decent extension cord or power strip and have the best of both worlds. Is that what a lot of people do?
Portability.
Both of these can fit in a bag or my pocket.
I'm a fan of the other type, but I understand these as well.

First world problems
Not really. Tech has been democratizated to where this problem is common in the second world and frankly the third world too.

There are places like Afghanistan and North Korea where phones aren't accessible, but this is largely a political or social motivation.

You see fires in the second/third world much more from electricity being jerry rigged with people plugging strip into strip into strip.

The real answer to the original question, is cost. Corded high wattage bricks cost much more to ship and warehouse.

According to reviews, this is an Anker 336 67W charger and an Anker 313 30W charger. FYI the 30W is not capable of 12V PD.

Would be better to say the 30W doesn't do PPS. Regrettably 12V was never made a USB spec, so it is only achieved with PPS.

I use this with my work Dell laptop and it works fine when only the laptop is plugged in, if I plug a phone in, I'll get a warning that it's slow charging, annoying but still works.
IMO/IME I think you're better off plugging your phone into the laptop and letting the laptop get the full power.

Corded ones cost more (generally). Every 3 years standards are changing, so I end up having to rebuy a cube. Plus travel.

Plus every location I'd charge my phone has a plug next to it or a power strip. Both my work and home desk had 120v outlets ran to the desktop. (Clamp on power strips -some even have outdated USB plugs)

I do have one that's on a cord that runs to the outlet behind the couch (so the couch can sit flush to wall). It lives under the sofa with 2 USBC cables that get tucked under the couch for laptop/phone

It's true that it's not a requirement in the PD spec, but it was an option. A majority of PD supplies support 12V, and every PD trigger board I've seen has a 12V option. I don't think I have any purchased USB-C devices that require 12V, but I do have devices that I adapted from a wall wort to a USB-C connector with a trigger board that require 12V over PD.
