The only time you might be spending too much money are on premium brands and imports, where the other supermarkets are unlikely to sell a comparable product. That I can see as a valid argument, but also many people, including myself, don't mind spending a bit more for quality organics, imported Asian/European products, or fresh kitchen and bakery products that taste way better than the crap you'd find at Wal-Mart.
First all off all these discounts are manufacturer rebates .( Costco only mark down clearance items ). 99% items at Costco have mark up averaging 13% 10-15% mostly except for greenmade products.
The prices you see are manufacturer cost*1.13, so if you see price increased it's due to manufacturer cost , not Costco increasing their % profit margin.
PS: I got fired at Costco

Its product purchase cost from manufacturer to Costco. Sorry was typing on my phone
13% profit margins are used to cover operational expenses
Thanks for the heads up! How do you request a price match? And does it work on items purchased in store? I bought the dog treats that will be on sale and would love a price match!

I do like Nurri but the one downside is that you can't reseal if you don't finish in one go.
