I found this to be more of a pain than it's worth. takes about the same amount of time as a regular size waffle maker, but you make one tiny little waffle. by the time you've made three, the first one is cold. I guess if you are just making one or two waffles for one or two small kids, that's fine, but that's a lot of prep and clean-up for not a lot of yield, plus the maker and the plates take up a good amount of cabinet space.

if you're not bothered by all that, and/or plan to make these small waffles in parallel with a regular waffle maker, or something, then I guess that works.

any way, just my two cents. I'm also the kind of guy who makes about 20 full-size waffles one morning and freezes most of them so people can defrost them and not have to go through the hassle of prep/clean-up all the time, so there you go.

(I eventually got a cuisinart flip for $32 after promos at kohls and have been very happy with it)

My wife bought about 15 of these things without the removable plates. Would've saved a lot of space and money if we had this version…

We use our often. It's a great smaller size for kids and very easy clean up.

My local Costco had a couple random ones or returns left and rang up for the same price 2 weeks ago. Was hoping they dropped to $4.97 like last year...

This ended up being the reason I returned this. After spending like an hour to make 8 mini waffles to freeze to pop in the toaster later, I decided that just buying supermarket frozen waffles was a way better use of my time.

That's why you buy 2 and make 2 at a time

I own two of these and primarily use it to make waffles for my 2 and 4 year old. One machine was too slow. We also got extra molds for different holidays and seasons. Two is just right if I'm continuously cranking out the waffles while my wife and kids eat. The kids will only enjoy these designs for so long until they get older and lose interest. Once that time comes then I would probably clean it up and gift it to the next family through our local Buy Nothing then upgrade to something else.

Is it convenient and can waffles be made faster? Of course but the kids are happy so I don't mind it being slightly slower inconvenient.

The first time I turned it on, smoke came out from the top plate, something other than the plate was burning, it was going back to the store.

Bummer, otherwise I would have keep it

I ended up buying another version of this for Christmas. I kind of wanted the holiday one over the regular one because they seemed more fun than the dinosaur and unicorn (especially now that our daughter has grown out of the unicorn phase) and the holiday one was cheaper. But I really wanted the griddle. That had been a game changer for making eggs for sandwiches. I'd pay $10 for this just for that. My kids like it and it's much easier to work with when my wife just wants to make a few for the kids before school without getting the bigger waffle maker out. If I had a Costco membership, I'd be tempted to get this just for the holiday plates.

I got one of these for my girlfriend around Christmas and she uses it more to cook an egg with.

These waffle makers heat up quickly and do a good job making waffles. Don't let the small size fool you. Cook in a hurry.
