This is an amazing deal. If you are new to polishing, make sure you understand the difference between a dual action polisher (DCM848) and this rotary polisher. A dual action polisher is considered more foolproof for newbies

The exact opposite. If you do not know what you're talking about you should not be giving advice

Is 7 inch enough or is it average? Is bigger better?

It's plenty, I actually prefer a 5 or 6 inch for automotive and will swap out the pad. 7 is great for larger surfaces like an RV or boat

Most people think they have a 7" when they really have a 6". I prefer slightly smaller ones because the big ones always get wobbly and don't stay up.

Always get two: a small one for smaller panels like bumpers and side mirrors and a big one for everything else

DA polishers are easier to use and give better results for newbies, but they can burn through clear coat easily because they're more effective at polishing. That's the known trade off.

VERY tempted on this.
Does anyone have experience with a battery powered polisher? I have the 3" and 6" griots da, to cut and polish a suburban annually. …its tough to lift your arms for a few days after.

I have 5ah and 8ah dewalt batteries am just thinking the bulk of the tool and 8ah would cook your arms after polishing a boat for a weekend…

Great deal, cheapest I've seen it. Finally bit for the 1-2 times I use it a year. great upgrade from the plug in Porter-Cable one I've been using.

Good deal, but way overkill for everyone but professional detailers. A random orbital/DA polisher is more forgiving, and this is quite large. Meant for polishing large surfaces quickly. But still a good price.

How is this compared to the Flex or M18 polishers. Is there a huge difference?

This is an amazing deal. I have this one and a corded makita, which is the standard for many, and I always grab this instead
