Got an email today with subject: ", you've been selected for this $10 offer"

https://www.discover.com/credit-cards/

tl;dr is to generate a virtual card number and spend at least $100 through Chrome to get $10 back

Instructions in email:
How do I get a virtual card number?

1. Next time you check out from your Google Chrome browser, make sure your Discover Credit Card ending in #### is saved to Google Wallet.

2. Enroll your Discover Card for a virtual card number.

3. Use your virtual card number for an extra layer of security when you check out in Chrome.2 Your credit card number is not shared with merchants.

I did this, but not really sure if I did this. Wasn't very intuitive when checking out and no real verification that I used a virtual number.
If you use a virtual number you can see the card number field to have different *****#### numbers from your real card. For example real card *****1234 but virtual card *****9876.

Can I generate those virtual number for use with other websites lets say doordash? If so how ? Also whats limit ... any input is appreciated
Just think of it as a 2nd Discover card number, works like a normal Discover card, everywhere Discover is accepted.

Good to know, thanks! Every card should have this option.

This is such a stupid implementation of virtual numbers, just let us get a real virtual card option with controls for limits and expiration etc. this is just glorified google pay.

Wrong. If you put your Discover card into your Google Wallet (Pay, Payment,... whatever), then use Google Chrome with that Google Profile logged in, there will be a new card autofill option that says "Discover Virtual card", then Chrome will autofill the payment field with a virtual card number different from your original card number.

It works everywhere, like a normal card. I have been using it for a few months now.

The catch is this virtual card option is intended for single use, and Google x Discover have to verify and greenlight it every time you use one, so you can't save it for future purchases or recurring subscriptions as it may break (or may not, but it may break).
For example: Amazon usually charges you when they ship. You purchase 2 items in the same order, one shipped 3 days from now, the other 4 days from now. The item 3 days from now will likely go through, but Amazon may send you an email regarding payment declined for the item 4 days from now.
I tried specifically this with Chrome and for some reason I just can't get it to generate my a card or prompt for auto-fill. I can only get Chrome to do anything at all if there's a specific Google Pay button.

Good to know it's not actually working properly for me.

I got it to work. It turns out that despite the card being added in Autofill > Payment methods, without sync explicitly enabled it will not actually prompt to create the card. Thank you for letting me know it was not working properly. Post corrected.

Does it have to be in one transaction or multiples?

Is this feature only available to Discover Credit card holders or do Discover debit cards work? Is this a feature of Google Chrome using Google Wallet to pay by generating the virtual card or is Discover generating the virtual card?

I use google chrome and turn on virtual card number for discover card (it says Autofill in Chrome & Android, Virtual card number = Active), but I never see virtual credit card number anywhere. I tried Best Buy.com and other sites. What Im doing wrong?
