Sure does.

It really will never go away, likely only get worse.

I like to price match Amazon to Best Buy in store to get around counterfeiting.

Teamgroup 512gb for $28 right now.

I always use SanDisk, Samsung, or teamgroup. Ive had issues with them all but less issues from teamgroup. I own around 50 micro SD cards. I've only had a few of them fail and they were usually the smaller size ones that tend to get corrupt and stop working. The warranty isn't great on any of them but they usually mess up in the first month of using them or many years later. I wouldn't worry to much about it, and always make a backup if it's important.

Does anyone ever have issues with SanDisk SD cards? I've had a few various models and there was like a 1 in 10 chance they would just stop appearing on devices for good one day and i'd lose all the data on the card permanently, whereas I've never had that issue with Samsung

Those are the only two brands I've ever used though so idk if thats normal or not

Would this do OK in a security camera OR should I spend a little more money to get a High Endurance card?

You may have to try another agent I was told it was eligible about 5 minutes ago.

I haven't had issues with either but I also don't have a ton of cards. I have a couple Sandisk for a DSLR camera that haven't had issues and a few Samsung endurance for surveillance cameras and no issues with those either. I've definitely 'exercised' the Samsung's a ton more with the constant recording too. I will say from general sentiment I see in these threads and in other conversations about SD cards online that SanDisk seems to have lost it's place as the industry standard and most people seem to recommend Samsung now so I think you might be seeing that in action in your own experiences.

Any way to check authenticity of the Teamgroup cards? I always check my Samsung cards with their software.

they work perfectly in my phone. never any issues. the problem comes when putting the card in a card reader. once in a while the file table gets corrupted. for some reason android does something to partition table. but that's easily fixable with GetDataBack or some other data recovery tool.

I try to always buy from 1st party companies. And usually stay away from eBay or 3rd party sellers. I don't believe you can check if they are authentic or not. Some software might be able to check, but I have not tried to look before.

there have been cases of people getting counterfeits in store at best buy too. I imagine people return their known fake ones in store and unless you know exactly what to look for, it'll get past you. I personally have never had an issue with amazon storage, but I always run h2testw when it arrives and make sure it at least writes what it is advertised to. I'll be surprised if they are pushing out these "higher" storage cards with their advertised storage, they usually throw 8-32gb nands so they should error pretty early on in the test if they were fakes.

tl;dr just test them when you get them (with a program like h2testw) and you should be good.

I personally have best luck with Samsung, I have an older model 256GB (2018) micro SD (was $99 at the time) and it is in one of my backup phones that hasn't had a single issue with data.
