I've regretted not pulling the trigger when the 1TB/16GB Snapdragon Plus Surface Laptop was $899 at Costco around Christmas. That was the best deal I'd had seen on the current generation Surface Laptop, especially with the 1TB SSD. This deal is the same price, has same storage and memory but with the upgrade to the Snapdragon Elite processor. For anyone wanting an ARM based Surface Laptop, this definitely seems to be the best deal to date when you consider the specs and price.

I've had this exact laptop for a couple months and I'd day its probably the best I have ever owned. I don't think the battery life is as mind blowing as the imply but it's very good. Touchpad is awesome as well.

I've had exactly zero compatibility issues with the processor so take that for what it's worth.

You neglected to mention all the apps you use so people can see how diverse your applications are that you have no compatibility issues with. Or do you just use email, browsers, and Office?

I know about it. If I'm buying a new architecture why would I want to run non-native software that runs slower and uses more battery (exactly the reason I bought ARM in the first place)? Might as well stick with Intel Lunar Lake if that's the case.

Well, in that case, all those who claim on Reddit they managed the strip the screw using a T5 driver, and therefore one should use a Trox Plus driver instead are lying.

Why would they do that?

And why does the Trox Plus look different form the T3?

I, of course, am sure you're right and they are all wrong. Reddit. Pfff! They made me spend $10 on a driver I didn't need. It worked quite well though.

Regarding the post of yours to me that the mods removed, I could still see the notification and was able to read it and no worries...I'm not pro-ARM or pro-Intel. I've got both. But I have to speak up when people say ARM doesn't have compatibility issues because it does. But you can certainly do a lot on one if your apps are either native (or if you don't mind slower emulators, with "compatible Intel apps") then ARM works and you can find some good deals. At the same time, you can find some great deals on Lunar Lake laptops too and not have to hassle with emulators or print drivers that won't install,etc. It's not just one or the other is the best. I recommend laptops to clients and at this stage I still wouldn't recommend ARM laptops until there is more native app coverage.
