Is this a good deal. Seems a bit too big for a backpack. hoping the 20L goes back on discount as I missed that deal back in December

Looks weird. Like if someone picked up a carryon and taped it to their back.

hence why it's a "travel bag"

Correct. Travel BAG does not, and is not designed to. Travel PACK does (doesn't seem to be on sale this time, but does periodically).

it's a very heavy and bulky bag. I returned it last time it was on sale because it wasn't practical for my needs. Much prefer some of the lighter 40L packs. And even on the heavy side Peak Design and Aer etc have better quality bags that I prefer.

Thanks, this is a carry on as opposed to a personal item, so I'd rather stick with a rolling bag for my travel needs. I can see why this is a great bag for someone looking for something wearable.

Same... I had Osprey Farpoint 40L and was just sweaty and non ergonomic ... This looks about the same.

Exactly. The item is too heavy to want to carry on your back. If you really have to, get a lighter and morefunctional backpack like one i mentioned. Otherwise, save your back and get a roller bag

I own a farpoint 40L and it's way less sweaty than this thing. The farpoint has a mesh backing with a curved plastic ring so give you additional airflow which this bag lacks. The farpoint is also way more ergonomic and lightweight and less bulky. And cheaper than this deal. It's a few bucks less than this deal right now on amazon but can go as low as $100-120. I actually like that pack but it doesn't have much in the way of organization or an admin section so it's more of a niche use case. it does fit under most airplane seats and i have traveled like that if there is no more overhead bin space after the plane is fully loaded but it does stick out.
