It will be loud but that's a good deal for the power you get.

For anyone concerned I ordered a generator one off eBay and had no issues.

This looks to be a higher end model in this size, with the extended runtime tank and the other goodies like full propane setup and surge protection. 68db sounds like it will be reasonably quiet as generators go.

In other words.... When the block has lost power, the neighbors will be hovering around my garage like zombies in The Night of the Living Dead mumbling '...power....'

Great low price house backup solution for general use. Sure wish it had 240v, wish it was an inverter, but for $233 a great deal for sure.

Mine has a coupon code on the page bringing it down to $209. I absolutely do not need this but man is it tempting.

Yeah. I'm holding out for a similar deal (with relatively higher price) for an inverter model.

If like new generators that leak oil this is the one for you. I didn't even have 3 hours on mine and it leaked oil.

Here's a relatively handy calculator:

I don't suppose you should use this with a dialysis machine, it probably a high threshold whatever that threshold is

In an emergency sure, only if it was all you already had. But I would recommend an inverter generator that puts out a pure sine wave. It will be much "cleaner" electricity for the dialysis machine. The cleaner electricity is much better for sensitive electronics.

For scenarios like above for dialysis machine, and noise levels, and lack of inverter, how feasible you think it would be to have a cheap generator like this to charge and recharge a smaller 1kw battery powered generator for just 20 minutes and then use the separate battery backup for running the dialysis machine (or in my case a refrigerator) for 4-8 hours until power returns.
