For those who don't know, Chase [chase.com] is celebrating 15th anniversary of the Chase Freedom card.
To that end, for Chase Freedom and Chase Freedom Flex card holders, there is an additional 5% bonus category for March only, which is Tax Preparation and Insurance. This is in addition to NCL, Grocery Stores, Gyms, and Hair/Nail/Spa.

Hopefully, this helps those that still need to file their taxes. And 5% off those large insurance premiums is always appreciated.

NO. You do not have to re-activate to be eligible for this offer. As long as you activated the first quarter 2025, you are also activated for the March-only tax prep and insurance offer.

If you have not activated first quarter 2025, then yes, you must activate. Deadline is March 14:

Apply for another Freedom/Freedom Flex. It's only March 4… you've got time.

That's horrible advice. Don't waste a chase card slot just for that. There's much better sign up bonuses around.

I tried to sign up for the 5% cb bonus for insurance but it allowed me to add Amazon and streaming only. (I already signed up in January for the 5% cb bonus categories offered like groceries.) **How do I add the 5% cb bonus for insurance payments (car, home) to my Chase Freedom credit card? **And again, on 3/4/25 posters commented on getting additional 30% discount (or cash back?) for going with/using Fidelity - how does that work? Today is 3/17/25 and this all needs to be done in March - PLEASE RESPOND! Thanks!!

I got 5% for geico auto
Got 5% for GEICO Umbrella Liability. Was concerned about being assessed an installment fee for not paying full amount in one transaction, but was able to use 2 cards to make separate payments on the same day.

So if I pay my home insurance which is $2000, how much will I get back? I assume $75 cash back for $1500 limit. Anything past that I'll get 1%, right?

Data points suggest this works for tax payments through pay1040 and ACI

Go to the UR points portal itself from your card (you can click redeem and it'll bring you there).

On the main home screen on UR, it'll show the quarterly earnings and pending points. Geico showed pending next day, (even when the charge was still pending).

Would be nice if they extended this to April and Q2. Hard to spend $1500 on amazon nowadays.

Check with your insurance provider if they'd let customers do split tender transaction, paying using multiple cards so your second/third/fourth payment methods can be other cards yielding higher than 1% reward.

CONNECT by American Family (through Costco, previously-named Ameriprise) allows split tender. Even though their site shows the "Custom amount" option if you try to pay online, wouldn't allow to proceed unless you specify amount in full. Roll Eyes (Sarcastic) Only option seems to be to give card digits through phone. shake head
