Big initial deposit required, but banks paying 4.3% on savings typically do not pay sign-up bonuses. Getting both a good rate and SUB is nice, and unusual.
No direct deposit games - nice. Finally, a bank that doesn't care where the money comes from.
The risk here is that you have to keep $5k in for 60-90 days to get the 4.3%, but CIT can lower the rate in that timeframe. However, CIT has historically had good rates on this account for quite a while - not at the very top of what is available, but certainly within shooting distance of the top. I would expect them to remain competitive.

Just a portion. I just called them and was told the 4.641 is the 4.75APY, it just isn't showing under the last statement APY since I just had the change applied this month
What triggers the offer? Just attempting to initiate a large outbound transfer in the app?

Did you try to move hitting a bonus? I opened an account yesterday only. I wonder if I can get extra interest rate if I try to transfer a certain portion of the money to another bank.
Another thing, did offer popped up for automatically or they have that offer after you called them?
I've been pretty happy with my savings account. Transfer from my checking at Chase reflects usually next business day. I tried to transfer money out of Cit Bank and they gave me an offer of 4.75% APY for 12 months and I took it. Well, not exactly guaranteed, but I think it's a guaranteed bump of .333% apr.
How did you try to pull money? From the app or website? Did you get a prompt offering a bigger rate or did somebody call you?

I opened an account and transferred 50K and I got this email:
"You recently submitted an application for an account at CIT Bank (CITBank.com). In order to process your application, we need some additional information to confirm your identity. A CIT Bank agent will call or email you in the next 3-5 business days."
That was 4 days ago (incl weekend) so I guess I just have to wait to hear back from them at some point by end of week... annoying
Awesome tips from SDers....Tried to transfer out a big amount and it offered me to increase my rate to 4.641 with 4.75 APY from 4.31 APY. Can't complain.
Same here. I've platinum account but no way to enter the promo code.
If you already had an CIT Bank existing account as of 2/26/25, you still need to first officially enroll in this offer via the "Start savings now" button and then logging into your CIT Bank account instead of creating a new account. It will take you through enrolling into the offer for existing member
You don't have to open a new account you can enable the offer by clicking on the offer link and if you are an existing customer you can login and it will guide you in enrolling your existing platinum savings account with the offer

By not buying things not needed on SD
$50K cash is not that hard. By the way, it's bonus payout season if I am not mistaken.
50k in bonus? I'm in the wrong profession

Both app and website. A prompt came up before confirming.
Care to say how much you were moving? I tested with 10k and no prompt just a button to start the transfer.

I tried to move my whole balance. There should be a few screens to confirm. I think I got it on the second screen.
Thanks this worked for me.
