Big initial deposit required, but banks paying 4.3% on savings typically do not pay sign-up bonuses. Getting both a good rate and SUB is nice, and unusual.
No direct deposit games - nice. Finally, a bank that doesn't care where the money comes from.
The risk here is that you have to keep $5k in for 60-90 days to get the 4.3%, but CIT can lower the rate in that timeframe. However, CIT has historically had good rates on this account for quite a while - not at the very top of what is available, but certainly within shooting distance of the top. I would expect them to remain competitive.

Just tried a transfer and got an offer at 4.5%/12 months. Odd thing is I had a similar offer doing the same thing from less than a year ago and I'm pretty sure the rate dropped.
Yea, the rate will drop along with the market, but the bump % will stay. Looks like Cit bank new rate is at 4.10%
I'm an existing CIT customer with more than $25k in their Platinum Savings. If I transfer $25k out of it to my other bank, then back into CIT and left it there during the 30-day funding period, would that qualify me for the $225 bonus?

I tried to transfer $20k out but they didn't offer the higher rate to keep the funds. Did you go all the way to the balance transfer?
Boy this is awkward. I signed up, created a login, got all the way to the initial deposit screen and my laptop freezes and forcibly restarts. Now it says my username is already in use when I try to sign up again but it doesn't recognize my credentials when I try to log in. Weird thing is if I go to the CIT bank website directly and try the credentials it seems to recognize them but wants to do a 2 factor authentication with a phone number that doesn't exist. What in gods name...

I opened an account and transferred 50K and I got this email:
"You recently submitted an application for an account at CIT Bank (CITBank.com). In order to process your application, we need some additional information to confirm your identity. A CIT Bank agent will call or email you in the next 3-5 business days."
That was 4 days ago (incl weekend) so I guess I just have to wait to hear back from them at some point by end of week... annoying
How was this resolved for you? I just opened an account and all went fine until the end where I too received this message: We need some additional information to process your application

They got back to me in a week saying my chexststems report was frozen. I called chex, they thawed it and my application went through

Same here. Also interest dropped to 4%
You'll get your bonus ~90 days after account opening and the bonus amount will be based on the total posted amount as of the 30th day.
it even keeps popping up after I accept the offer too, cause I did still want to transfer the money for the $900 chase offer.
maybe keep trying different amounts or wait a couple days
