Big initial deposit required, but banks paying 4.3% on savings typically do not pay sign-up bonuses. Getting both a good rate and SUB is nice, and unusual.
No direct deposit games - nice. Finally, a bank that doesn't care where the money comes from.
The risk here is that you have to keep $5k in for 60-90 days to get the 4.3%, but CIT can lower the rate in that timeframe. However, CIT has historically had good rates on this account for quite a while - not at the very top of what is available, but certainly within shooting distance of the top. I would expect them to remain competitive.

Got the $300 bonus plus when i was transferring out they offered 4.5% interest rate for me to keep my funds in the account which I gladly accepted for now.
Did you get that 4.5% offer once you hit the "submit transfer" at the last step?
Thanks so much for this head's up! I've been with CIT Bank for a few years now, and recently their rate has been dropping consistently. Did the head fake transfer request and got my APY back up to 4.5%.

You'll get your bonus ~90 days after account opening and the bonus amount will be based on the total posted amount as of the 30th day.

Does the money have to sit for a set amount of days?

Did the fake transfer to see if they would bump up my APY. I did not get that offer. LOL.
Canceled the transfer and will keep it with CIT. Their rate is around 4% which is still higher than most.
