Be sure to research T-Mobile's locking policy and the fine print of the agreement. Basically you are locking yourself and the phone for 2 years with absolutely no way to unlock it, you can't pay off early, and you will be stuck with T-Mobile for years or you lose the bill credits.

See previous threads here on T-Mobile. They have become really consumer unfriendly in the last couple of years.
1) To check if your plan qualifies, log in and see if you have the promotion... verify by submitting your trade-in phone estimate. It's common sense. YES, most likely Simple Choice plan will qualify for this.

2) Phone cannot be cracked in the screen and no moisture/water damage. Also, cannot have destroyed pixels and dead spots. The back of the phone can have some wear & tear and cracks.

3) Best deal is to buy a Samsung S10 from eBay for your trade-in. This promotion will probably last another two weeks based on what they are saying from the subreddit.

4) You can get $100 Costco cashcard for being a Costco member. You can call or in-store. I've done both. I would probably call as it was quicker and just as simple. You also don't need to bring the phone with you. Just an IMEI. Just make sure the phone you are submitting qualifies or else you're going to be in a heap of trouble submitting the IMEI of a phone that might come cracked, etc.,

5) You can ship your trade-in phone or bring it in to a T-Mobile corporate store. Just tell them you have a phone to trade in... They will do basic checks and automatically approve your phone for trade-in on the spot. Saves you the hassle of UPS losing your trade-in phone during shipment.

Most of these questions have been asked... Just look at the old T-Mobile thread from two weeks ago.
Sprint would have free new iPhones with trade-ins with same 2 year commitment. T-Mobile also a few years back. This, their best offer, plain sucks!

I believe that is your phone's trade in value. You should receive the other $455 as bill credits for 24 months.
Nope- if its eligible for the $500- it says so

I have an old SE (gen 1) as well as a 12 mini lying around. Site shows a trade-in value of $250 for the SE and $500 for the 12 mini. Suggestions on which is a better value to trade-in? Do the SE1 now, with the hope that 12 mini retains its value for a bit longer?
I think you have an SE 2nd or 3rd gen, not 1st gen. It shows $250 trade in credit with a 2nd or 3rd gen. I have an old SE 1st gen that I tried and it just says my phone is too old to receive a trade in credit.

If you cancel your wireless service, the remaining balance may become due. Your promotional credit may end if your equipment installment plan is paid off or closed early.
It's true that that has changed. However, it will depends on your reasoning. In my case, it was paid off in order to use esim abroad. Another word, if it mutually benefits both parties(consumer and provider) then the request will be completed in a friendly fashion.

Apple intelligence sucks ass, which was the whole selling point of this phone. If people didn't buy every new model, maybe they'd be forced to actually make significant advances (iPhone guy here)
It can't answer basic conversational questions, unless it's something clearly found on Wikipedia or something, it's no better than siri. Alexa does a better job for some reason..
AI can't even figure out when you throw two different measurement units at it like kg and lbs in same question, it gets totally confused..

I unlocked two iPhones last year. You can pay off the phone and unlock it after 40 days in the network. Is the unlock policy changed?

anyone know what's the cheapest phone on the list that I can buy on ebay to qualify for the $500?

thanks!

Don't bother with eBay, get an S10 or S20 from swappa and you can get the imei to start the trade in process before getting the phone from swappa. The reason I prefer swappa is because some eBay sellers sell blacklisted phone or report it stolen after they sell it to you.

I can confirm there is a way to unlock your iPhone that is "locked" into a promo
No, you can't unlock unless the device is fully paid off in that case you loose the remaining bill credits. Unlocked phone is important for people who need to add another provider eSim like international data eSim because t-mobile's international plan is expensive and it still sucks after paying more. Just buy from apple.com with same promo to get it unlocked.

Right. As you can see, it stated that the promotional credit may end if your equipment installment plan is paid off or closed early at the time as well. Therefore, the same logic applied to then and now.
