Be sure to research T-Mobile's locking policy and the fine print of the agreement. Basically you are locking yourself and the phone for 2 years with absolutely no way to unlock it, you can't pay off early, and you will be stuck with T-Mobile for years or you lose the bill credits.

See previous threads here on T-Mobile. They have become really consumer unfriendly in the last couple of years.

1) To check if your plan qualifies, log in and see if you have the promotion... verify by submitting your trade-in phone estimate. It's common sense. YES, most likely Simple Choice plan will qualify for this.

2) Phone cannot be cracked in the screen and no moisture/water damage. Also, cannot have destroyed pixels and dead spots. The back of the phone can have some wear & tear and cracks.

3) Best deal is to buy a Samsung S10 from eBay for your trade-in. This promotion will probably last another two weeks based on what they are saying from the subreddit.

4) You can get $100 Costco cashcard for being a Costco member. You can call or in-store. I've done both. I would probably call as it was quicker and just as simple. You also don't need to bring the phone with you. Just an IMEI. Just make sure the phone you are submitting qualifies or else you're going to be in a heap of trouble submitting the IMEI of a phone that might come cracked, etc.,

5) You can ship your trade-in phone or bring it in to a T-Mobile corporate store. Just tell them you have a phone to trade in... They will do basic checks and automatically approve your phone for trade-in on the spot. Saves you the hassle of UPS losing your trade-in phone during shipment.

Most of these questions have been asked... Just look at the old T-Mobile thread from two weeks ago.

Sprint would have free new iPhones with trade-ins with same 2 year commitment. T-Mobile also a few years back. This, their best offer, plain sucks!

It says "Select Choice Unl TT+D 25". Is it Unlimited Talk, Text and Data for $25/line perhaps?

Right. As you can see, it stated that the promotional credit may end if your equipment installment plan is paid off or closed early at the time as well. Therefore, the same logic applied to then and now.
Two different terms completely, old one says "may end "vs bill credits end if you pay off device early. There is no room for interpretation.

That's where the reasoning logic come into play. If you see it that way then be you, sanguinely speaking.

Anyone tried this deal at an Apple store? I am on the One plan, just tried it at apple.com, but wasn't able to replicate the deal. Like others have said, it will be best if we are able to order via apple.com or in store to get an unlocked iPhone.
I'd be very very very surprised if that worked

FYI.
A lot of confusing offers. Yesterday, I went to the corporate store and traded in my IPHONE 13, Magenta Max 55 plan.

Received $ 630 trade in.

I guess the Valentine's Day promotion wasn't so limited after all.

Based on my experience, the phone unlocks automatically after 12 months of service. If you pay off early, you lose the monthly credit for the remaining months. Not as negative as you make it out to be for those who intend to stay with T-mobile. $500 credit is pretty good for those low value 3+ year phones. For those on their pricier plans, the credit is even higher. They do collect the sales tax on the list price and charger $35 activation fee.
Maybe if you have the upgrade on us plan, but I had another phone and it definitely didn't unlock until all 24 months of bill credits passed.

Are you sure about this?

You can pay it off early and the bill credits will continue as long as you have service. And once paid off you can request unlock as long as the device has been active for 60 days.

I tried this before, but they wouldn't let me (staying with T-Mobile and keeping the line). I'd prefer to pay my portion of the phone up front, then just let the monthly credits roll in for the remainder of the 24 months. Did you have to go in store?

I've been on T-Mobile for years and have never had a phone automatically unlock. It's a quick message to them to have them do it, and I've never had an issue with them not unlocking my phones 'early'.

Have you tried since they changed their policy from 7/2024? Chatted with 4 different reps over the holidays, they wouldn't unlock my iphone 16 unless I paid off the device and give up the bill credits. Ended up bringing a spare iphone 14 and to hotspot for international travel.

Quite annoying realization as I've been a customer for over 20 years, since the days of voicestream. Might be time to hop around carriers with new customers deals.

I have the same plan and it doesn't show the monthly credit.
