Be sure to research T-Mobile's locking policy and the fine print of the agreement. Basically you are locking yourself and the phone for 2 years with absolutely no way to unlock it, you can't pay off early, and you will be stuck with T-Mobile for years or you lose the bill credits.

See previous threads here on T-Mobile. They have become really consumer unfriendly in the last couple of years.

1) To check if your plan qualifies, log in and see if you have the promotion... verify by submitting your trade-in phone estimate. It's common sense. YES, most likely Simple Choice plan will qualify for this.

2) Phone cannot be cracked in the screen and no moisture/water damage. Also, cannot have destroyed pixels and dead spots. The back of the phone can have some wear & tear and cracks.

3) Best deal is to buy a Samsung S10 from eBay for your trade-in. This promotion will probably last another two weeks based on what they are saying from the subreddit.

4) You can get $100 Costco cashcard for being a Costco member. You can call or in-store. I've done both. I would probably call as it was quicker and just as simple. You also don't need to bring the phone with you. Just an IMEI. Just make sure the phone you are submitting qualifies or else you're going to be in a heap of trouble submitting the IMEI of a phone that might come cracked, etc.,

5) You can ship your trade-in phone or bring it in to a T-Mobile corporate store. Just tell them you have a phone to trade in... They will do basic checks and automatically approve your phone for trade-in on the spot. Saves you the hassle of UPS losing your trade-in phone during shipment.

Most of these questions have been asked... Just look at the old T-Mobile thread from two weeks ago.

Sprint would have free new iPhones with trade-ins with same 2 year commitment. T-Mobile also a few years back. This, their best offer, plain sucks!

They won't accept it. They even checked for water damage on my iphone 12's. The cracked screen will be so obvious that it will be denied.
Why would you trade in iphone 14 pro anyway? Crazy. Buy a s10e and make hundreds more in this deal- selling the iphone 14 pro (obviously without a cracked screen) is the way to go.

AGAIN- no-one should be trading in a valuable phone when an s10e or s10 or pixel 6 is the deal here….

Is this only for 16 deals ? Can the phone trade in be for another model of I phone for my daughter ?

Just checked and seem that all Apple phone accept the trade in at $500 for Samsung S10e. I was planning to get the i phone 15 for my daughter for $729 - $500 = $229.00. Will I qualify for the $100 from Costco if I do it there ?
Foolish to get the iPhone 15 for $100 less. No one should be getting that…..over a iphone 16

$100 Costco card is for upgrading your phone

I upgraded my phone at Sam's Club.
My T-mobile order confirmation shows my "Trade-in offer details" with "Estimated trade-in value $50.00. One time credit to your account"
There's no mention of the additional $+450 ($500 total) Bill Credit for the trade in. Is this normal?
I am still waiting for my iPhone to arrive before I go to my local T-mobile store to trade-in my phone (eligible Samsung S20 FE 5g)

I did mine at Costco, but I assume this would be the same for you at Sam's. Log into your TM online account. On the top right with your name, select "Account Activity". Scroll down to the History section. You should 1+ "Promotion Enrollment" entries where they specify the monthly billing credit details. Or at least I see that in mine.

Apple doesn't waived the upgrade fees and give you an extra $100 gc. Why would you want to do it at Apple? You are stuck on the t-mobile plan for 24 months whomever you go with.
The only reason to do it at Apple would be to get an unlocked phone (e.g. for INTL travels) if you need that capability over saving the extra $135/phone via Costco.

Thanks for the walkthrough. I don't see any "Promotion Enrollment". :/
Did that show up right after you left Costco, or after you received your iPhone and traded in your old device?

To be honest, I don't know when that first appeared. I noticed it today after seeing your question and worrying about how to confirm my billing credits. I have not yet received the new phones.

Do you see other things relating to your upgrade such as "EIP agreement", "E-Signature Terms and Conditions", or "Order placed" [for the new phones]? You may want to give TM (or Sam's) a call if the Promotion Enrollment doesn't show up by tomorrow.

Apple also waives $35 DCC charge. It also calculates tax based on discounted price after trade in deductions. The benefit through Costco is less $100 ($100 - tax diff) than Apple.

All my iphone 16 pro max's will be unlocked after 2 months, so it's a non factor with me.

How? T-Mobile does not allow unlocking phones on EIP.

If you're really on a tight budget and your daughter is too young, go with the 16e to save $200.
