Funny, I'm currently sitting in my truck swearing at this exact camera as it won't shut up..."Parking recording started" "Recording Started" every five minutes. Also, I have sensitivity set to the lowest setting, but every bump I hit, it's talking to me about emergency recording or something like that. Annoying as hell.
I have a fleet equipped with cams from several brands. Viofos are by far the most UNRELIABLE ones
I've had an A119 for about 3 years without a hiccup. I pull the SD card every ~6 months just to double-check it's recording properly. Never a problem.

I trust viofo. I have two dashcams from this brand. The first one is from 2016 and still works to this day.

I feel it's odd as well. I've been reading mostly good things about this brand from various sources as far as dashcams go and now a lot of hate...

Was I being bamboozled by fake reviews from multiple sources?
Mine died within 4 months. Not even in summer heat.

What brand have you found to be better? My Viofo cameras have been much better than the previous two brands I had before

I've had the same experience with ones from 2017 and 2022. I had never heard of Viofo and assumed they'd crap out but I've been pleasantly surprised.

I have the A329 Pro 2CH w/ Parking, GPS / Wifi (Plus Remote) in a 2024 WRX TR. So far it's been great, no issues, works fine. If I hit a speed bump a bit hard it will take a photo. I can hook it up to SSD, but it's only using an SD card for now. Picture is excellent and a great viewing area. I have not had the 229, but I have been happy with this brand.

Same but the heat in CA makes the adhesive on the glass unstick after about 1.5 years in my experience. But the cam itself has been reliable
I live in socal and my A119v3 has been on my car since before covid and still good to this day. Hope it doesn't fall off anytime soon

My viofo has been fine, I also had a cheap Blueskysea B1W and that was fine. If they're not all capacitor based, I would only get ones that have a capacitor and not some sort of battery inside them. At least if you live anywhere hot. Also always use an endurance micro SD card in them, I think that's half the problems people have at least are microSD related.https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutte...-dash-cam/

Ah, well when you get into the world of machines and electronics, there's always a chance of that happening.

Have ready plenty of the opposite as well, that these things can endure some gnarly heat.

Ah well. I'll probably just go with their 4k+2k rear option.

Mine says "video protected" too often (maybe once every one or two hours of driving) but it's not too bothersome since I don't drive that much. I occasionally just delete all the saved videos to clear the space. But I'll look at other brands if I need to get another dashcam.
Contact their CS for an update. I was having that issue and they were able to help me out. I've only had it for a few months.
