Funny, I'm currently sitting in my truck swearing at this exact camera as it won't shut up..."Parking recording started" "Recording Started" every five minutes. Also, I have sensitivity set to the lowest setting, but every bump I hit, it's talking to me about emergency recording or something like that. Annoying as hell.
I have a fleet equipped with cams from several brands. Viofos are by far the most UNRELIABLE ones
I've had an A119 for about 3 years without a hiccup. I pull the SD card every ~6 months just to double-check it's recording properly. Never a problem.

A more important question is which ones are … wait for it… the most RELIABLE ones?

I have had an A129 Pro for a few years that worked fairly well at first. But then I noticed it would randomly not record trips, and the parking mode seemed to work EXCEPT when the car was bumped! Had someone slam into my parked car and bust the engine mounts, had park video before and after but NOT during the impact. The software is pretty garbage too, shows firmware update option but it doesn't work. Moved it to another car and it's even flakier. Recently bought a $20 Bluetooth remote for this- it paired and worked fine but then fails to work the next time I turned on the car. Think I've lost my patience with VIOFO.

Dashcams are essential with all the horrific drivers around, but an unreliable one is less than useless. Can anybody recommend a reliable and sharp dashcam with front/rear for under $400?

My unit was mounted on static film. Fell off. Unit 2 heavy. Used spare 3M pad 2cstick straight 2 windshield. Pray it holds.
Mine has been mounted on static film for the past years. It never fell.

I mean, too restart it wouldn't it work to take it out off parking mode? Like, if you really wanted it you could go turn your car to ACC or ON, whichever powers the camera, and it would cycle out off parking then back into parking mode when you turn the car back off, basically just cycle the camera's power, no need to stay car.

Also, I'm really taken back by how many people are asking a question from the first page and not thinking it might be answered yet... just skim through the comments and look for that username's next comment(s), can't hold your hand and guide you for everything. 🤦 ♂️

Yes turning the key probably works but sometimes i can't get to my car if i don't need to drive, don't go out to the lot especially in bad weather. That's why i prefer to have longer parking mode like some new cams 24/7. OBD adapter supplies enough power for 2 single channel cams and it auto shuts off if senses low voltage.

There was a response earlier in this thread? Did it get removed?? Did they pay to get it removed? It had lots of down votes thinking the company had several people in this thread promoting their own product and downvoting other recommendations.

Viofo DO NOT honor their warranty. They give excuses after excuses as to why it's YOUR fault
This is a very typical business practices from a Chinese owned company from China. Don't confuse them with Taiwanese.

I've been using VIOFO on all of my vehicles since the first A119 came out. Never had any issues. Even in the triple digit TX heat, the cameras have always worked.
Same but the heat in CA makes the adhesive on the glass unstick after about 1.5 years in my experience. But the cam itself has been reliable

I purchased the A129 Plus Duo in November 2022 and have not had any issues. I have it mounted with the static film, and it has never fallen off. I live in Texas, where summer temperatures inside can reach 120–140°F, and it is still going strong. Ensure you have a high-endurance card, as that is recommended for all dash cams. Also, when you install the static film, clean your windshield well, and you will not have any issues.

Viofo was extremely well recommended, now all of a sudden I see people flipping on them. I'm happy to say that I have not had any problems.

The only thing that I will complain about is that mine has the old 2.4ghz Wifi & it's slow compared to the 5ghz.

I have both the a119 v3 and a119 mini 2 and they work flawlessly for years. I'm surprised to see so many shitting on Viofo? Maybe just certain models aren't as good… idk
Yeah I don't get it either. I guess people have 1 bad experience and swear off the brand and then bash it until the end of time. Just like with everything else. I think I had problems with my A119V2 which is why I bought a V3, I think. Used that one for 2+ years though. Amazon says I bought the V3 March 4 2020 and I've been using the same hardwire kit since November 2019. I live in Florida and use a sunshade in the windshield. I've also never used parking mode, I just keep the camera running if I'm away from my driveway (and sometimes even if I'm home if I forget to turn it off). It's run non stop for over 2 weeks on multiple occasions. I don't even use high endurance microSD cards. Just 2 256gb samsung evos and 1 256gb Sandisk equivalent. So harsh environments and supposedly sub par microSD cards and the V3 still works almost 5 years later. They must have made mine right I guess.

*edit* I don't even have the hardwire kit installed properly according to the internet. I've got the power wire and the acc wire in the same fuse tap lol

I have a + in one car and a pro in the other. Both work great. No issues whatsoever.

No brainer at this price. Has the "newest" Sony sensor which is most relevant part of a dash cam, and you definitely want the newer sensor over old for better detail, license late legibility and low light performance.

It's been a while so it wouldn't surprise me if there's a newer Sony sensor on the horizon soon, but this is a very stout 2 camera dashcam system at a great price.

I would fork over the extra $$ to get a second camera, more peace of mind.

All I do is drive, never have to worry about the dashcam, love the peace of mind. I've never met a person that hasn't told me "you have the worst drivers here" so I view this as a mandatory purchase 😂

I feel it's odd as well. I've been reading mostly good things about this brand from various sources as far as dashcams go and now a lot of hate...

Was I being bamboozled by fake reviews from multiple sources?
