I was checking out last year thread which seem to start at the beginning of May. So it's just 2 months from now, which I think I can wait. Get the full warranty. Been checking out FB Marketplace deals, one guy with a Q990D barely used was willing to sell it to me for $500 but I had to travel 100 miles to get it. But I couldn't make the trek. Had other offers for Q990C and Q990B for around $500-700 but these don't have warranties even if they are lightly used. If I can get this deal for $600-700 from Samsung, I'll pull the trigger.

Remember to ask chat if any other discounts are available. I got an additional 10% off and they forwarded me a link to purchase at that deeper discount. Stack with $50 off your first purchase with the Samsung app if that's still available.
I'm very happy with the system, it sounds incredible. I'd only spend this much if you have access to ATMOS content though. Sounds like any other soundbar without it. I think that's the reason for polarized reviews between awesome vs not impressed. I also find the bass to be fine. Perfect in shows like Stranger Things without being overwhelming.

I have this system out in my 3 bay shop. Shops about 50 yards from house. Sonos is better for home theater but this shit is so loud my wife lost her mind. Apparently DMX is not for the children.

Some ways that may help - if you went to college in past, you should be able to request an EDU email address as an alumni. If you have a kid in school, use their edu email address. Double check your work email address, your employer may have a plan with them (that's how I get access). There used to be ways to get a fake edu email address, but I think those are harder to come across now.

Hmmm I do have an alumni email address but that hasn't been working since they've been verrifying with id.me

i asked for it straight up, after getting real agent name Amy, but even then her replies were mostly templated and could well be the same AI from earlieršŸ§made me suspicious if there are actual live agents at Samsung.com/app (maybe this whole 10% requesting is all part of their next Bixby testingšŸ¤£). eventually with patience, 'Amy' created my cart with the 10% discount already added and provided me the link; opened it up and sure enough confirmed it's ~$800 excluding tax and pulled the trigger.
just really hope this unit is as good as all the reviews praised and not just meh upgradešŸ«¤. my previous unit was a Harman Kardon 5.1 HTIB, which wasn't all that to begin with so am expecting to be blown away by this pricy (even with heavy discounts) soundbar kit.

Dolby Atmos Soundbars are heavily dependent on size and shape of a room. If your living room has 2 sides of walls open or exposed with 12'+ ceiling high ceiling then traditional home theater setup with a dedicated receiver might be better but it can be costly.

Regardless this is the best soundbar if not one of the best for your money right now.

If the past deals on Q990C are any indication, we might expect to see prices under $700 and/or big combo deals with TVs sometime around May. May 2024 the Q990C got down to almost $600. Then it bounced around various prices between $600-$700 for the next several months, apparently until supplies dried up pretty good.
