I was checking out last year thread which seem to start at the beginning of May. So it's just 2 months from now, which I think I can wait. Get the full warranty. Been checking out FB Marketplace deals, one guy with a Q990D barely used was willing to sell it to me for $500 but I had to travel 100 miles to get it. But I couldn't make the trek. Had other offers for Q990C and Q990B for around $500-700 but these don't have warranties even if they are lightly used. If I can get this deal for $600-700 from Samsung, I'll pull the trigger.

Remember to ask chat if any other discounts are available. I got an additional 10% off and they forwarded me a link to purchase at that deeper discount. Stack with $50 off your first purchase with the Samsung app if that's still available.
I'm very happy with the system, it sounds incredible. I'd only spend this much if you have access to ATMOS content though. Sounds like any other soundbar without it. I think that's the reason for polarized reviews between awesome vs not impressed. I also find the bass to be fine. Perfect in shows like Stranger Things without being overwhelming.

My biggest problem with my Q990C is the rear so lowwwwwww.
I felt the same. You can adjust it in the app. I did that and rears are outputting good amount of sound now.

If the past deals on Q990C are any indication, we might expect to see prices under $700 and/or big combo deals with TVs sometime around May. May 2024 the Q990C got down to almost $600. Then it bounced around various prices between $600-$700 for the next several months, apparently until supplies dried up pretty good.

Not a good deal. I got the Q990B for $598 2 years ago,
Lol sounds like someone's bitter that his soundbar has no 120hz pass through, no eARC and no HDMI 2.1 compatibility.

I have both Q990C, Q990D and S90TR. S90TR is perfect for one of my bedrooms. It just depends on your room size and shape. If you have a huge living room with open 2 story ceiling then no soundbar would be adequate. Traditional home theatre setup with dedicated receiver would be the right way to go.

How did you manage to do that can you please help. I also have the same issue also bought it the same time as you are.
October purchased q990c on app for $666.50
November worked fine
December-march
subwoofer disconnected every 20-30 seconds.
Used Samsung app for help
1st attempt was pairing.
2nd attempt updating firmware.
3rd attempt was having someone come out to replace inner parts. Made it worst. Sub wouldn't even turn on and now the rears wouldn't connect.
4th attempt was to replace more inner parts and sub. Still didn't work.
I was fed up and argued with them that I want a refund or replacement.

5th attempt I had to ship soundbar to them (they paid for it UPS).
Received phone call soundbar is not repairable. It's within purchase warranty and will be replaced with q990D

It took a long time to get resolved because calling certain Samsung departments are limited. And I have a day job.
I'm glad they're replacing it but I wouldn't want to go through that ever again. Samsung customer service is the worst I've experienced. Worse than sprint/tmobile.

The 990B does support eARC and 120hz pass through (1080p only). 4k pass through is at 60hz only.

Well in the end it looks like they are taking care of you, it had to be frustrating though to have to go through all those steps and a lot of time to get them to admit it should be replaced. I really don't understand the logic of companies that want to spend a ton of manhours trying to repair something the customer is clearly unhappy with. Maybe at least try a couple troubleshooting items, but if you need to send a repair tech out, maybe have them verify it's not working and swap out the unit with a replacement on the spot. Repair the non-working one at your own cost back at a repair center. Customers would be a lot happier and in the end and probably less time spent on troubleshooting/repair manhours.

I've been waiting for this, as well. Looking to replace an old Samsung TV that got damaged by some movers, also need a soundbar or two for our den. But also want the ability to play games and movies at 4k120hz passthrough, which requires the 990D/HDMI2.1.

I suspect all this will happen sometime late Spring/early Summer.

Some ways that may help - if you went to college in past, you should be able to request an EDU email address as an alumni. If you have a kid in school, use their edu email address. Double check your work email address, your employer may have a plan with them (that's how I get access). There used to be ways to get a fake edu email address, but I think those are harder to come across now.
Thanks. It turns out that once I created a new Samsung account using my alumni edu email address, I was good to go. So there was no additional id.me verification. I did ask my brother who has an edu email as a backup. Also a while ago, fake edu email addresses don't really work anymore with id.me verification. Lol, I look into it. A lot of trouble which ended up not working for me.
