I'm very happy with the system, it sounds incredible. I'd only spend this much if you have access to ATMOS content though. Sounds like any other soundbar without it. I think that's the reason for polarized reviews between awesome vs not impressed. I also find the bass to be fine. Perfect in shows like Stranger Things without being overwhelming.

1- When you ask for a discount, NEVER mention EPP/EDU because it is already steeply discounted.
When asked about what price are you seeing, just tell them the regular price. Once he/she create the cart with the discount code, then you login to your EPP to checkout and the price will reflect the discounted price with coupon still active.
Edit: after the rep create the cart for you, ask him to give you a few minutes to checkout to confirm that the discount was applied successfully. These codes are known to "expire" quickly. If the code doesn't work when you try to checkout, ask the rep for another one!
2- Be prepared to speak to multiple reps! It is rarely that you get struck out by multiple agents especially when there are numerous reports of success.
3- It is always useful to mention that you are a Samsung fan and own multiple gagets
