I have never understood Windex as it just does not work that well for me. Generics of all kinds and other cheaper brands just work better.

I really like this stuff and it almost the same price at regular price as the Windex is on sale. I see many maid and window cleaning service workers using the brand. Thay do not play around with bad products that do not work well as they can not afford to.

A window cleaner recipe is two parts. First part is the cleaner, hot water and ammonia. The second part is the rinse, hot water and rubbing alcohol. Use a (soft) white scotch bright scrubber to clean. Then use a sponge with the rinse. Final pass with a squeegee, too top to bottom. But for everyday cleaning, Windex works well. Don't use ammonia on plexiglass; it can frost it. Cheers!

Sounds like to much work. Many of the bottled and spray products work all in one simple step with just some simple wiping and maybe a change of rags.

The commercial grade mixes can be quite cheap and don't take all those steps. Watch how the people that do it for living do it and it is usually the cheapest, most efficient and best way wit ideal products. A bucket and good squeegee will be needed but they are not as hard to find or expensive as they used to be.

One good scrub with the scrubbing side of a squeegee and flip and finish can get it all dome. Some do have alcohol or you can add some. Alcohol does seem to help and I like the Stoner automotive spray cleaners that have it in them.

I migrated to that method over the years with a wall of windows under a canopy of trees. I'd do the windows seasonal and for special occasions. But again, for everyday cleaning of mirrors and such, sprays are very convenient. The alcohol rinse helps it dry quickly and streak free. The recipe is from Anderson Windows.

Got the vinegar version for $2.15 with subscribe and save. Not supposed to use ammonia products on quartz countertops.

The Vinegar (CLEAR) version also has a great coupon. I prefer it to the blue stuff. It's great on kitchen appliances.

"The owners, Johnson state the formula changed in 2007 to no ammonia, and has an increased alcohol content. So what your using should still work.".
