This stuff is great but be warned, you really need two of these kits to do a typical 2 car garage. I used two kits and my garage is an oversized 1 car garage. I did one kit and since it was not glossy towards the front (the part everyone sees and notices), I did a 2nd kit the following weekend. Kind or like painting, it's all about prep. I rented a diamond bladed concrete grinder (looks like a floor buffer) from Home Depot. I'm 235lbs and fit and that grinder kicked the sh!t out of me. I watched a YouTube video of an older guy that was like a buck 50 whirling around with the grinder like what the heck LOL. A set of old school metal spikes on a pair of golf shoes is perfect for getting the whole garage done and being able to walk on it to do the flakes. I bought extra bags of flakes and made sure to throw them straight up so they distributed evenly. My garage looks like it belongs on the box now, seriously one of my buddies was joking that I need a nicer car now, Honda Accord is outclassed by the floor. I also invested in a rolling magnet bar since it was taking me a half hour to find a nut or a bolt now. Totally forgot to mention, I used the grinder with water, keeping the floor wet the whole time. Concrete dust is no joke, wet was easier than having to wear a respirator. I had about 1.5 cubic ft of wet cement when I was done.

I did two of these on my 2.5 car garage about 9 years ago. I did the proper prep. It gets damaged easily and really isn't worth it. Heavy EV has worn sections away. I wouldn't recommend. Very nice when new and under very light usage. I paid $125ish per kit in 2016.
If you use jacks, jack stands, move large objects, etc, it will wear away and damage quickly.
I also added sand. Even with the decorative flakes, it's dangerously slippery if there's water on it. Sand is a necessity.

Pay a little extra and go with floor tiles like motofloor from Costco or Swisstrax. They looks much nicer , don't need a prep, and you can rearrange them later if you get bored of the current pattern. The main issue with epoxy is the hot tires that will kill it soon, specifically if you don't do a good prep.

this is great price. grinder is best but now you can buy primer that binds to everything including oil stains. Prep is important

So has anyone already done the research and determined this to be a quality product for the amount spent? I was thinking 3 kits for a 3 car garage new build, extra "glitter" and some self etching primer.

If you use jacks, jack stands, move large objects, etc, it will wear away and damage quickly.
I also added sand. Even with the decorative flakes, it's dangerously slippery if there's water on it. Sand is a necessity.

You can get a dust sepetator shop vac attachment that attaches to the grinder. Keeps down the dust down immensely.

Honestly, this is the answer. Or do actual tile. Get a commercial tile with PEI 4 or 5. If you haven't done tile before, it's actually quite easy. Even if you screw up the lines, it's just the garage…

I honestly don't remember. I used most of a bag of play sand. I spread it around after applying the flakes. Waited a little for the epoxy to get semi tacky. You want it on the surface.

I installed this in my garage about two years ago (1st time DIY), didnt used any grinders, just power washed the floor then did factory recommend prepping. I can say it held up pretty good. Except for the water marks i cant take out. Suggestion is wipe anything liquid right away. Im not sure if its worthy to mention that it was newly constructed two car garage house, diamond grinding they said you need to let the concrete aged or something to diamond grind it.
