If you can afford to wait, S10 FE is around the corner with bump in RAM! This should definitely drop sub 200 soon.

fyi, you're not wrong that the aldocube is a hell of a deal, but lets be honest, no one is cross shopping 11" tablets with 8.4" ones. different brushes for different strokes.. or something like that.

Personal recommendation is the 8GB RAM + 256GB model.
If you have EPP, you can trade in a Tab S7, S7+, S7 FE or S8 for $300 and get it for $135.

This is a luke warm deal.
IMHO.. you need the 8GB of RAM so the price is now... more.
The reason to get this is for the updates but realize that a cheap Chinese tablet may be $100 less and perform better but no updates.
The CPU is about 1% faster then the Snap Dragon 6 Gen 1 which is now considered the new low for Chinese tablets. The problem is that currently they are all 8.4" in size. The best bang for the buck right now is the "iplay60 mini turbo" by Alldocube from Aliexpress. I have this tablet and use it daily, I also have the Tab S9 and I prefer how light weight of the 8.4" form factor. Besides the form factor, the iplay60 mini turbo does usb-c to hdmi out and the Samsung does not and Samsung screens are TFT and the iplay60 is IPS.

why is the upgraded model important? For the ram or the storage?

The issues are... it is only a G99 which is one step down from this deal. The larger Chinese tablets have not received the upgraded CPUs... only two models have the upgraded CPU and both are 8.4".

I think getting a AAA membership works and there's someone around these forums that can get you an epp account for $5. I didn't use them, but I recall others reporting positive results.

I don't understand why my edu account can't see that price. I got a discount using Edu email before, but now Edu discount is not available. When I check on the Samsung app, it says that the discount is not applicable because of the Edu standard account. Does anyone know why this is happening?
