bought this for $6.17 Oct 2024, good price. I like the soft light compared to the other models on amazon where it's the bare LED showing.

You have an option to choose either 2 or 4 AA batteries. Do not use Ni-Mh batteries since it will drain it all the way down and might damage your batteries. Use throw away alkaline batteries for this. This light is not that bright to begin with. More like a night light than a flash light level. It is good for emergency you can see inside your house, take a shower, etc.. It is not that good if you need light to read ( labels, not book) or fix things around the house. I have a couple of these for emergency use. Good thing about this is it can go on for 4, 5 nights with just a couple AA batteries.
