Both are great casual tactical RPGs but much easier than XCOM or Fire Emblem.

Had a lot of fun with the first one; haven't tried the second one yet. A lot of fun to be had for $10, as long as you know going in that it isn't a "real" Mario game.

Love both these games. Played both to completion and definitely recommend at this price.

I was surprised by how enjoyable the first game was. For this price I would definitely advising picking it up even if it's just to occasionally play when not in the mood for anything to serious, but still wanting to accomplish something in a game

How does this one compare to Sparks of Hope? I quite enjoyed that one, but if they're basically the same I can probably skip.

I loved the first one and grabbed the gold edition the last time it was on sale digitally. It's a good travel game (plane, long train ride) and is very satisfying to just always have. I haven't played the second yet so this sale is just in time

Great games. We just repurchased the first one after loaning out the game to a family friend that did not return it. I recommend this to almost everyone, as the game has a much lower barrier to entry than XCom for new players but is still a blast to play.

I personally liked KB more. It doesn't have the same free movement that Sparks has but the battles felt more strategic. They got similar DNA but definitely worth playing cause it does hold its own in a different way.

Is the gold edition worth the extra $5? Looks like it comes with extra content and weapons. Buying this for kids and they've never played this before.

For me it was but depending on age and how "completist" your kids are may not be necessary. The gold edition has another character and so more maps. I was exited to try out a new strategy but it's not needed/related to the core game. My own kid never completed the core game (maybe 60% thru).

Do the games get hard near the end? I've only played the first one and a few levels.

How's the coop? Would I be able to play this with my 5 year old? Would it be considered more difficult than the princes peach showtime game?
