So for an extra $150 (from this deal), you get twice the storage, newer processor albeit less cores. Pass.

I did a test run of the 10th gen iPad, installed all the apps I needed, and only used about 1/3. I don't plan on adding any media so this should last me a while.

Deal is still slick - at least for my use-case.

I bought this in December from Costco via same-day with discounted instacart
Gift cards and a Instacart coupon and it came to under 190 with taxes. I was thinking of waiting until March hoping for increase in ram but now after looking at the new model I feel it was the right decision. I don't need extra storage and the CPU is not a great improvement either.

Just know that with AAFES, Apple products can only be returned within 15-days and only if completely unopened. If opened, it must be dysfunctional for a refund or replacement, again only within the 15-day window. Problems beyond 15-days must go directly to Apple.

Not a terrible price but still overpriced given the storage, and it's even less than that because of the software usage.

If you are willing to wait there is a good chance that newer gen iPad (11th) with 128GB storage and 2GB more ram will go on sale for $200~$250 by holiday season

Good luck.. With Trump's new tariffs on China, unless Apple starts manufacturing elsewhere, I think the price floor will be set for the near future. In fact, I think Apple is adjusting for tariffs with new pricing models such as on the iPhone 16E and rumored iPhone 17 line as well.
