Amazon and Walmart both offer the 19.8 oz bag of snack size Hershey's for $7.98, which comes out to a better price per/oz ($0.40/oz) than this deal. We prefer snack size bars for s'mores.

This was pretty much on sale for $2.99 at local grocers every other week during last year's summer time. But we don't know if the prices will drop to that level anymore this year.

This is cheaper than the $6.99 I had paid few days ago to make chocolate strawberries.

Not unless you are allergic to it.

Lecithin: Supports brain health, Improves liver function, Lowers cholesterol levels, Promotes healthy skin, and Aids in digestion.

Nope. It is found in many foods naturally and is important for a healthy body.

$8/lb for low end chocolate is criminal.

Polyglycerol polyricinoleate (PGPR) and lecithin are present. Both are better off avoided, especially PGPR imo.

I like Trader Joe's 72% Cacao Belgian Dark Chocolate, but even that is high in lead, I just learned. Hershey's chocolate is also high in lead, according to this:

https://www.consumerreports.org/h...480295550/

TJ "Pound plus" is 17.6 ounces for about 6 or 7 bucks. Better price for better chocolate overall, with less ingredients.

Ghirardelli seems to have the least lead and cadmium, along with a few other lesser known brands, but who knows, maybe they paid off CR. (not saying they did)

It's always a bit of a gamble, but it helps to limit your choices to the healthiest ones available.

All of this being said, it certainly will help me limit my chocolate consumption! A small amount of low sugar, low lead/cadmium dark chocolate per day is actually very healthy.

If purchasing the Trader Joe's pound plus belgian chocolate bar, be aware it is very thick and not easily broken unless you have strong hands and fingers... especially if refrigerated or kept at cool temperatures.

And naturally is the ONLY way it should be consumed. Don't believe everything you read, these days a lot of it cannot be trusted. Don't even take my word for it. Keep learning until you see the light. Big Grin

Over $8/lb. Hershey's has 11% cocoa content. Is this actually a good price now?
