YMMV - this monitor was listed for $249.99 online, but it's a nonstock item so they are discounting the monitors at most stores. Check with your local retailer, the online price did not change until I went to the store. Locally, the price was $179 plus tax.

300 nits. Recommend atleast 350 for daytime viewing unless curtains are closed always.

I have this monitor for work and it's great. I work in a room with windows that gets direct afternoon sun, I'm not closing shades to see this because it's unnecessary to do so. Brightness is fine. Stop nit picking 👌

Sorry to break it to you Ionizer, but not for curved displays VA benefits them more..... The whole point of IPS was to improve viewing angles and better color reproduction, viewing angles are a moot point so only thing your benefiting is the possibility of better color reproduction. While a VA panel will help prevent light leakage (IPS curved more common issue) , give you way better contrast, and black levels. So unless you are buying a super expensive curved monitor with an IPS panel in 90% of cases the VA will be better for this monitor type.

i hear your point and at first i thought - you know, he's right, but then I thought about it more:

on a normal flat screen IPS, the benefit is you can see it from all angles - hopefully we both agree on this

If you have a curved monitor, which is naturally adding curves to the view, I would think IPS is even MORE critical b/c if you want to see a consistent image/contrast/brightness, having a VA panel would reduce that image b/c of the slight variation of angles from the curvature. by having IPS you're avoiding the "always on" aspect of seeing things from an angle

help me understand if my thinking is wrong?

what do you mean "too" this VA is $179
are you implying its $250 as base price, so would also be $179 in store/YMMV?
