Maybe during normal times this would be worth posting about but currently there are MUCH better deals on Lowes GC's. For example right now on Raise/GCX Lowes GC's are ~17% off.

I recently cancelled a Lowe's on-line order that I paid for w/a gift card.
They fedex'd a gift card for the cancelled amount.

Cancelling an order is not the same as a return. If you read their return policy they specifically say they will give an in store merchandise credit for returns on purchases made with a gift card.

It's not a big deal for most people, but I order online to get cashback and can no longer do that if I get an in store merchandise credit.

I've purchased around 12 giftcards using this method and 3 of them didn't work at all. Still show on my account as having $100 but they error and lowes customer service can't seem to do shit about it. I don't recommend buying these.

I'm wondering if that may be an issue on some of mine as well. I've purchased Lowe's GC in the past and I'd swear on my life that I hadn't used some of them, or all of some of them.... but when I go back and try to use them now.... online either says not found or not value... but I'd swear I didn't use them all up (when I use part of them I update my email to show when and how much so I know the balance left). So on emails that show I have some left.... those cards don't work

And if you go in store and ask... they can't see anything helpful... not when/if the card was used or any history at all that might help identify (or remind you) if you used them up or not.

Same with home depot. Total pain if you want to use it for something shipped to store!

If u pay by gift card, online order don't usually have cash back. You get 1% for the gift card itself...
