It's my first time hearing about a Philips OLED in the US. First Panasonic and now Philips. It's good to see competition in the OLED space.

Just something to be aware of and I'm not sure if it applies to OLED technology so you may be ok here, but back a couple of firmware releases ago, Roku took out the option to turn OFF motion smoothing (interpolation aka soap opera effect). Just completely removed it from the options menu and it's now stuck on permanently.

Many threads on Reddit and their own Roku branded tv sets discuss this so please do your due diligence researching this issue.

Already out on the floor at Sam's in Langhorne, PA. Not on sale yet though, guess in a few days.

What?!? I would lose my mind... That stuff looks like how nails on a chalkboard sounds (to me at least)

hmmm, I may have to check this out.

I currently have a c3 55" in the master, but I can't read certain subtitles since it's too far away so hoping a 65" is the answer. I'm concerned this doesn't have much in the way of sdr and upscaling. I was wanting another oled and almost pulled the trigger on the samsung 85d 65" at ~$1k. Other than this it's mostly bestbuy open box on bravia 8 or a b4 from the partner store.
I know Roku has the option to select a larger size if needed. I am not sure what you use to stream, but that is always an option too.

Something makes me think it'd be wiser to wait until an LG B/C4 is on sale than to buy a licensed product from the makers of Magnavox, Emerson and Sanyo.

Philips is a big European tech giant (or it once used to be). They actually invented CDs and actively collaborated with Sony to develop the Blu-ray specs. Whirlpool is a Philips brand and they are still big in the world of commercial and home lights. This is the first time they are bringing their oled TVs to the state side and I have only read great reviews about their TVs

Philips has been making OLED TVs since 2017, mostly in Europe. They use LG OLED panels but stand out with features like Ambilight and their P5 processor. This 65OLED974/F7 is one of their newer models released in the U.S.

Philips brand of TVs was totally separated from their European past in 2014. It's made by TP Vision, a wholly subsidiary of TPV (Hong Kong). TPV also owns the AOC brand (monitors)

Personally, I'm not that impressed with my S85D. I would probably go back to LG or Sony for my next upgrade
