Wow these prices are great. I guess thank you to Apple for dropping the price on the new ones!

Yep! I recommend it to a friend only to realize what a great travel and general use laptop it would have been especially with the resolution. I'm not in a rush so I suppose the longer I wait the better of one I'll end up finding as time goes on.

I have the M1 Macbook Air. It uses a 10 year old chassis with a 720p webcam from 2013. It's not bad for <$500, but I'd probably spend a little bit more and get something with a faster processor, better webcam, better finger print sensor, more ports and so on.

Mine's supposed to get delivered tomorrow - hoping it's not a total POS

OK price but the M4 is roughly 25% better AND it is newer, more power efficient, etc etc. which basically equals to M3 new should be around $650 or below. This doesn't account the elevated trade in values towards M4 pre-order. Unless you need a laptop immediately, better buy the M4.

M4 will be $1000; this is $200 cheaper. The M4 chip is marginally faster than this; other than 2 external monitor support with the laptop open, not much more advantage.

Might as well get the new M4 MacBook Air for $899 via Apple education store.
