saw someone bust their butt riding a scooter on an uneven sidewalk. I ride through it every day on my bike and I never thought twice about it until I saw him fall. That's why I wouldn't choose a electric scooter over a electric bike. Who wants to second guess every bump they see while riding.

If I could add my 2 cents..These new models look to be equipped with hydraulic disc brakes vs. the previous models which used its own motor to do what's called electric braking.

Hydraulic disc brakes means maintenance will be needed for them regularly. Whether it's brake fluid change/top off or changing brake pads/discs when necessary… it gets annoying and costly! Especially if you don't do it yourself.

Having owned a few different PEV's, I would highly recommend sticking to the maintenance free route if you're using it strictly as a commuter.

I don't recommend pre-ordering any new launch scooter from Segway due to the previous mixed-bag early adopter experience (e.g., P100S, ES, early GT2, etc.).
Always wait till it's been tested and reviewed by other people to avoid any possible bug.

Just ordered - I went with Amazon even though it cost about $50 more because you have to pay postage to return directly to Segway. With Amazon I believe they will give you a pre-paid shipping label.

Having had to return one before the cost was estimated at $200! Luckily the company (not Segway) ended up giving me a prepaid return label.

I commute by scooter. Unless you need to bring it on public transit or are low on storage space a bike is way safer

This has a suspension. The cheap ones u prob saw doesn't and can't absorb bumps
