I ended up finding these in bulk at WinCo, and I believe the price was less than $1/lb. But I'm no longer near a WinCo and that was a few years ago, so I could be wrong. I still think WinCo is cheaper than this price if you have one nearby.
I now buy my steel cut oats from Sam's Club because it's the cheapest available option where I live. It's just over $1/lb, but it's a 25lb bag. It ends up lasting me almost a year, eating them for breakfast everyday. https://www.samsclub.co
Very unlike Whole Foods, unless you mean a temp price. Bulk or otherwise, they gouge.
