Blah, I wish I lived near one. I really like the texture of steel cut more than regular oatmeal, not to mention the steel cut are more healthy(at least some).

After landlords jacked up rents and drove out most health food stores out of business, as well as supermarkets and produce stores, Whole Foods came and put the nail in their coffin. Then only provides its services to people in trendy areas.

These are $2.16 per pound, about 10% more than Whole Foods. Haven't added in transportation costs to NYC.

And those are organic assuming we're referring to the same bag

With enough scale, we can make it work.

Newman, get the van.

This is a good deal for Bob's Red Mill! I used to buy these many years ago, and they were excellent.

I ended up finding these in bulk at WinCo, and I believe the price was less than $1/lb. But I'm no longer near a WinCo and that was a few years ago, so I could be wrong. I still think WinCo is cheaper than this price if you have one nearby.

I now buy my steel cut oats from Sam's Club because it's the cheapest available option where I live. It's just over $1/lb, but it's a 25lb bag. It ends up lasting me almost a year, eating them for breakfast everyday. https://www.samsclub.com/p/prairi...rod5460134

Each bag is $5 here where I live in a relatively low cost of living area. Store brand steel cut oats are all "instant" here (I assume par-cooked?). Great deal for me, thanks!

Try honey, peanut butter, tsp of vanilla extract, almond milk, vanilla creamer, flavored protein powder etc....

FYI you can get a 50lb bag of organic steel cut oats for $56 from Azure Standards (they typically deliver to a pick up site local to you) for around $1.12/lb

Very unlike Whole Foods, unless you mean a temp price. Bulk or otherwise, they gouge.

Thank you for the commentary and speculation. Sadly, facts are facts. They have been the same price for years here.

NYC is known to have cheaper prices, so that probably explains it.
