It's been $800 on and off since last year. Bought it at same price back in June 2024 from Best Buy.

Upgraded from M1 iPad Pro (same size and color) and not much difference in terms of performance.

I'd agree but that's only 11"

The only difference would be support life cycle, for the majority of users. The performance of the iPad Pro M1 is still real good.

If you need this size iPad you better get a MacBook Air. The ideal size for a iPad is iPad mini. Even the 11" iPad gets too heavy after an hour or so.
Agreed as a former iPad Pro 12.9 and mini owner. iPad with that screen size and powerful CPU is absolutely wasted on iPadOS. Love the size of the iPad mini wish they would just make that iPhone-iPad mini foldable already

I bought this device two years ago for over $1100. While it is fast and meets all my needs, it is quite heavy at 682 grams. In comparison, the Ipad 11 Pro 7th generation weighs 444 grams.

The 7th generation iPad Pro for the same price offers substantial improvements in display technology, processing power, and accessory support over the 6th generation even with the bigger screen, These enhancements make it a compelling choice. To conclude, if I had the option now, I would definitely choose the I pad 11 Pro 7th generation for the same price .

I recently upgraded from the M1 to M4, and you wouldn't believe it, but also no noticeable improvement in performance. What I did immediately notice is the poor color accuracy and "graininess" of the OLED panel. Returned it and will be waiting for the M5.
The M4 Pro is much thinner and lighter than its M2/M1 predecessors, so there is a very noticeable benefit outside of performance.

Agreed. For same cost I bought used the M1 12.9" iPad Pro with 1TB of storage and cellular connectivity. It looked brand new. Also, the 1TB and up models have 16GB of RAM. It really does help with Lightroom.
I bought the M1 12.9 iPad Pro 2TB 5G for $689+tax on Amazon.com, arrived without any damage whatsoever, with 110 cycles on the battery. Overkill for my needs on storage, but great value looking used.

That's of almost no consequence to me as I almost never walk around with my iPad, it's either propped up on its case or in my lap. Definitely not worth the sacrifice to display quality

Overpriced. It's hard to find this model in stock, but plenty were sold at less than 600.

These should be $500. I paid $800 after tax for an open box 12.9 m2 256. go for a m4 13 256 for little more. If you've never had a 12.9 then go for an 11 m4.

Interesting. Sounds like the anti reflective coating is the cause.

Where is the link for the same cost 1TB Cellular?

Agreed, I bought the 12.9 inch pro in 2018 (a year after it came out) for like $550. This was the one with the fingerprint button still. But these came out in 2022! If they wanted them sold they'd list them at $500 and they'd be gone in a day

got the M4 cellular for my wife so she can get WFH stuff done while we're traveling.

Adobe for tablets is on a subscription and also limited to it's Windows counterpart. Which is the case for Blender and Affinity as well.

Only apps she really uses on the ipad are Photoshop and Procreate. But she likes the QOL improvements using the tablet for 2nd monitor stuff like Slack, content consuming lol.

Note I said I bought it used. This was from an individual, but I do see them on eBay for around that price, too.

This is the comment/review I needed to not upgrade my LTE 1tb m1 iPad pro (albeit LCD 11" version)

Greetings from a 2020 Pro that's performance is still good. Apple does a great job in the iPad Pro lines.
