I have a pair of these. They are nice pliers, but keep in mind that they are 6" pliers. These are not going to work for plumbing or most car repair work. Standard vice-grip pliers are 10 inches. Here's picture of these pliers next to a pair of 10" pliers

If you going to gift this to a friend, please don't, if this friend is left-handed. All these buttons are located on the backside, when a left-handed person holds the tool.

Are they as good as knipex cobras
Dennys vs Ruth Chris steak. Both will fill your belly but you'll enjoy the more expensive one alot more. If all you can afford is Dennys and your ok no need to upgrade. You dont know what you dont know.

I'm going to object to them calling non locking pliers 'vise grip', and yes, I understand that's a brand name, but it's also the common name for locking pliers, which these are not.

yeah, i find these nice for a replacement to my actual pliers, not for a replacement for slip joints, or "channel locks" as most people call them.

Trying not to impulse buy things I don't need. So, I know in three days that I am going to magically need this and regret not buying it.

They work and are ideal for most general plumbing when you are working with fittings and such. Perfect for small spaces like under sink. Work for hookups of valves, supply lines etc. Most of my fixture plumbing and my well, softener and filtration system can be serviced with a pair of this size. In fact I have a similar pair in 5" that may be my most used plumbing tool.

I find the opposite. I gave up on my slip and groovelock pliers as they just do not grip or work as well. Knipex kind of did just that with their design and this kind of knockoff off of the cobra designs is easier to use and work better. Takes less force, minimises wear and tear on your hand and arm to use and most importantly does not slip as much. They do all the jobs that groove and slip joints do and do them better. I kept a pair or or two of the old style but cobra style has replaced almost all my goorvelocks and I seldom or never grab groovelock for anything. I'm Ebaying a mess of of them.

I agree wholeheartedly. I am a plumber and use this for fixtures under a sink and other places that are tight binds. Also, my coworkers all have a small pair like this one in addition to a 6" adjustable wrench like this that we use in certain jobs: https://images.thdstatic.com/prod...64_600.jpg
