Is the C4 really worth the extra $$$ over the B4? The costco deal is tempting.
If you are planning to place this TV in a dark room such as basement and if you plan to play games on a PC or a console such as PS5 most of the time then B4 should be perfect
Burn in warranty is a waste and I would rather pick up and any issues covered through Costco.
Much easier return if needed also.
Burn in warranty is not a waste if your content contributes to it. Costco does not provide warranty, it's powered through all state, that only extends LG warranty, which is very limited and negatively regarded when reviewing Allstates customer service feedback. There is no shortage in negative experiences from customers trying to claim warranty service through all state.
As a note, Costco only provides a 90 day return window for TV's for those not familiar.

Well all content CAN technically contribute.
It's a waste because it's very unlikely practically non existent especially nowadays.
Imo if you have any concerns with burn in, Oled displays are probably not a good choice for you.
There are plenty of good displays with zero issues/concerns with it.
Regarding Costco warranty, the first 2 years are manufacturers warranty(like any other) and you get 3 years on top of that included(no cost).
90 days will likely be longer than whoever you get the display with GT.
Return much easier with Costco in that aspect imo.

Would you get a 83 c4 or a 83 g3 if you had the choice?
I went through this same debate and from what I could find the G3 has a meaningful brightness advantage and the longer panel warranty.
So if you are buying from a place that doesn't have good warranty options or return support, the G3 still has that advantage. If you are buying both from say, Costco with the extended warranty and easy return support then it comes down to performance, and they are really close.
So bottom line if the price is the same, I'd get a C4 from Costco before a G3 from say, Amazon. It's a big item to have a problem with at 15 months.
But I think the real question now is C4/G3 vs. G4. If the prices were running like they are now I think I would have gone with a G4 for sure. I'm perfectly happy with my G3 and do think the chase for brightness is over rated, but the G4 is undoubtedly superior to both and worth it when the cost step is isn't huge. Always a tough decision with these, the 83" pricing is so tricky. But really, once it's on the wall I think you'll be happy with whatever. The difference in brightness isn't something that is in your face every day, once you know you have a good one and get everything dialed-in you're gonna be happy.

Bestbuy now has open box LG 77" C4 on sale as low as $1430.99. If you can find one near you in good condition then it might worth a visit.
Was hoping this would hit $2500.
If Costco was the price of the LG partners price for the B4, it would be hard to pass up!
