Absolutely loved this story as a kid. Think it was our first random assigned book reports in secondary, and my first sci-fi genre. Watched X-files as kid and didn't know about classifications.

Great read and pleasant shock finding out he wrote JP.

Same here. Reading this story as a young adult was incredibly intriguing

I still don't think the time travel aspect made sense, but I appreicated how brutal and un-romanticised the depiction of the Medieval Period was.

As with most Michael Crichton books, I don't like the conveniences that are sprinkled around. Like that they just happen to have a person on their team who knows how to professionally joust! Or that they have a super experienced rock climber on their team who keeps getting into situations that only a rock climber could get out of!

A really fun book that can be described as "a real page turner", don't let the movie turn you off. Time travel of a team of archeologists to the medieval times.
I loved this book.

Love this book, just re-read it recently. The movie is hot garbage though.

it is definitely one of Crichton's less serious and more fun books, but it depends on the reader if that is a good or a bad thing. It is also one of his shorter novels

One of my favorite books ever. I couldn't put it down and read the entire thing straight through.

The movie was absolutely horrendous if you read the book. Oh well.

Go read it and let us know. I'm interested hearing from someone experiencing the story from movie to book.

I had a similarly good experience as a teen reading this. I believe this was the second MC book I'd read at the time; Lost World being the first. I know Jurassic Park should have been first, but I found Lost World first in my dad's stash. I was hooked from there.

The movie was not great. Do what you should always do and separate the book and movie in your mind, then it's fine.

The book really was quite entertaining, even if not as scientifically rigorous as some of his other works. I definitely recommend it for this price.
