Be aware that the screen on this is super glossy. It is like a mirror in daylight.

No open box near me. Torn between this and the Walmart 15" Vivobook with the older Core 7. I know that one is a couple hundred more, but it has a better screen, won't have to replace the SSD with a larger one right off the bat, the color won't make me crazy with fingerprints, and I'd prefer a 15" screen. But this price is really good, even brand new and it's the newest processor, albeit a step down being a 5 vs a 7.
Do not overthink it. V series is not a "new" processor. It's not even in the same class with 125H and 155H. Just a reminder, 155H can do cb23 15000 while this 226v can only reaches 10000 barely.

This is a great "sip the battery" processor, not a performance processor

Thanks for explaining that. I see what you're saying. The H processor in the Walmart Vivobook seems a better choice for me then. Battery life and portability are lower on my priority list. I need to replace a 2021 low end gaming laptop for photography work I do.

Like bad for outdoor use, but indoor in regular lights is ok or is that a problem too

It's got a 600 bit screen; I'd think that would overcome a decent amount of glare but I've never seen this laptop irl

How's the battery life? Intel sucks when it comes to their battery life .
Battery life is fantastic with Lunar Lake. I picked one of these up as an open box for $359.99 and at that price it's just a ridiculously good deal. Here's a review that mentions battery life also:

Build quality 1000x difference. Surface laptop is a nice MacBook Pro replacement while this is a plastic black box. Performance surface feels faster but this Asus is actually faster. Surface is 120hz screen + 120hz touch. Surface is overall fantastic other than: 1. Compatibility 2. Bug on all snapdragon surface devices (pro 11+ laptop 7) for adjusting brightness and unlocking. Nobody tells this but it's a thing. I have 2 surface pro 11 base version and a surface laptop 7 base. The screen flashes whenever adjusting brightness and when unlocking which are super frustrating. I have replaced the surface within return period for 3 times and tried all display samples in BB. They all have this issue regardless, with the surface pro being worse and laptop being slightly better (still has the issue).
This Asus is not plastic, it's metal.

Just bought one. Never had OLED, so hopefully it lives up to the hype. I hope the battery can last at least 8+ hours with some light cloud gaming and Office apps.

I can sell my old P14 Gen2 Intel I5 for maybe 250 and my HP Victus15 from last year BB deal for 400.

I don't game much but this is a good deal, I don't know if this is better for gaming than the 7535 Victus that was popular at 400 last year Open Box.

I believe it is 30 days. Return is 15 days. Unless they had changed something recently

They did not give me that $100 I chatted with them. It's only during the return window which is both surprising and disappointing

How does this compare in terms of reliability to this Acer Aspire 3 from Costco: https://www.costco.com/acer-aspir...ue&nf=true
Aspire 3 is bottom of the barrel consumer grade laptop. So, this will be much better overall in look n feel as well.

Supposedly Asus usually goes off the original day it was sold but if it's less than the year, Best Buy honors the remaining 1 year warranty themselves. Which is probably better in many cases.

Really disappointing from them then ... dang! Every company is creating artificial hurdles to push for paywalled membership. Am wondering what would be 10 years from now Frown
