This TV is currently in testing via RTINGS and their review of it probably won't be out for a month or so.

Does this have a Variable Refresh Rate and will it be good for a computer monitor?

TCL just launched QM7K. Even though 6K is noticeable upgrade from last year, its better to get 7k model as it has more local dimming zones, better brightness, better contrast.

"With a native 144Hz panel that supports VRR and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, the QM6K is well-equipped for gamers. Its input lag is very low as well; in Game mode, it shows a latency of 7.5 milliseconds as measured by an HDFury Diva HDMI matrix."

Anyone know if this has Picture in Picture or a variation of it? Just amazes me how TV's over 20 years ago had this feature on 32" displays yet now its impossible to find unless you go to the really expensive and high end samsungs....
External HDMI boxes with streaming devices are the way to do that nowadays. Decent ones run close to $200 and will process 4k/60Hz inputs, I got one that will do different variations of up to 4 sources. It'd be kinda clumsy doing it that way but if you really want fully functional PIP or splitscreen that's the way to do it.

Or, just toss a 2nd smaller TV up. I have a low profile TV mount hidden behind a picture and I'll put that 2nd TV up it for big events. No big deal with how light led sets are.

One of them fancy frame-type sets would be a pretty elegant way to do it, too.

If this follows previous tcl pattern, I doubt you are going to see the qm7 get much (if any) lower than the 55" at $480. They have been clearing that qm7 inventory out for the qm7k that just released today.
Too many of us got spoiled by the deals that ran on the 6xx series sets, seemingly forever.

55" was $250 at one point, 75" was $750. 55" deals are really hard to come buy now.

I bought the 55" QM7 this past winter. Incredible TV for the money. Not sure the new QM6K completely surpasses this one. Some areas yes, but over all the QM7 is one higher tier. I wouldn't hesitate to but another QM7 if price is right.

Anyone who watches sporting events does, and now with displays well over 120" it would be even better. Watching two, three, or four football games at the same time. Or playing a console game while watching a game. A lot of use case scenarios but now that feature has nearly disappeared or only shows up in the highest end models.
It seems more practical in an 8k tv with the corner being 4k

Jumping through those kind of hoops is what I am trying not to do. Just amazes me we went from small tvs with PIP to now big screens without it, just seems like the logic went in reverse. I guess I can always wait on a deal on one of those samsung displays that has I think they call it multiview....

It was practical on a 1080 tv back in the day so the resolution didnt really matter much. What's even more peculiar even projectors are losing that feature, with more of them not having it then having it.
