My basic understanding is that it is 'mid tier'. 18/10 is the premium stuff, but you're not going to see that ever in the 0.60/piece range, normally closer to 2 bucks a piece.

Neither good nor bad. The second number indicates the amount of nickel in the metal.

The sets I got from IKEA they are not magnet proof and after a while I see some rust stains on them.

18/0 inevitably rusts and should not be washed in dishwasher.

18/8 or 18/10 are dishwasher safe and - in my personal experience - don't rust.

FWIW...I have been using some 18/0 Oneida (APOLLONIA) for probably 10 years now. Put it in the dishwasher every day on the hottest cycle. Never had any rust. I don't think I would let 18/0 scare you off. I think rust may be more of a risk if you leave food on the utensils for a while before rinsing.

Similar experience. Biggest issue was, pieces made in the cheaper alloy (zero nickel content) weren't finished as well; edge flats rougher, corners sharper, etc. Overall, lower quality of craftsmanship.

If the finish on these is good and the pattern pleasing to the buyer, IMO it's a good deal.
