I have both this and the gamesir. If you care about comfort and reliability go with gamesir g8 if portability is of high importance than go with backbone

Tempting. I have been eyeing the gamesir but it seems backbone is more portable plus this comes with a case...

I have this. I'd highly recommend the case. I had to return one backbone for repair after a few months but I would just throw it in my bag.

I recently got a ps portal so I use it less frequent but keep it as I use public transportation and it comes in handy when I want a break.

The one negative to me is the buttons are very close to Nintendo switch size which aren't great for big hands for a long time.

How slim is the case?

My dream case for this thing is a really slim one that keeps a gap between the two grips that is big enough to fit an AirPods case in

i got the gamesir g8 pro recently and dunno how to feel about this current sale. ive only really enjoyed playing blood strike (apex mobile devs) and dead cells with it, so idk if im missing out on the things ppl hype up controllers for.

cant stand using controller without gyroscope and the analog sticks dont feel right. this deal doesnt sound that bad though

I bought this recently and hated the tiny sticks.

Something to keep in kind.

I backed this kickstarter https://www.kickstarter.com/proje...-by-ohsnap hoping it will be the most compact gaming controller available for phones. Backbone and GameSir while nice(I have both) still just take up an annoying amount of space and your always paranoid how you store in your backpack and if u have it in a case your annoyed at how big it is

For anyone wondering about performance or comfort.. I am 6'6 and can pick up a basketball with one hand, so my hands are quite large. I beat the entirety of Subnautica on an iPhone 12 Pro Max through the Xbox app with my Lightning Backbone. No issues, even on 3+ year old hardware (at the time). Game streaming quality is literally better than PS Portal lol

Thanks for the input! Do you use the official PS Remote Play app or the other 3rd party one that is a few bucks?

I don't understand how these things became so popular. I jumped on the hype train and found it not worth it all. The fitment isn't that great. I expected more.

To top it off, you cannot stream PS Plus games to any device other than a PS Portal. You cannot stream only stream games that are physical on or in your PlayStation. Doesn't work for my use case.

The GameSir G8 is still cheaper. AliExpress has it for about $55 in the official GameSir store, and you can get its case for another $7 there as well. Unless you feel the compactness of the Backbone is worth the extra $8, I'd still go with the G8.

Not really slim honestly. I have a couple alpaka sling and sling max bags and when I put it in those I'm confident it's fine from being damaged so I don't use the case. I only use it when I have to throw it into a suitcase or backpack.
