If you ignore Chris Carter dropping the ball for two final seasons yeah
Gillian told him after 10 ended in a cliffhanger resolve Scully x Mulder in 11 or forget about it and when he decided to gamble on a cliffhanger a second time she said so long sucker 😩

To put this sale price in perspective: Back in the day, I paid $100 for each season DVD release. Not blu-ray, but DVD. It was a great deal at the time.

The male lead, not the actor, annoyed the crap out of me when I watched the first two seasons. But other than that, it is very enjoyable. Good story and pacing.
That was kind of the point though. He was a sci Fi conspiracy nerd, stuck in the basement because no one could stand him. Then you find out what drives him so desperately.

Awww.... I tried it. Only 10%. I would've jumped on it. Luckily, I already have the discs and Hulu.

I'm old, pretty sure this is the last series that I ever watched the episodes the day they came out back when I was in college. Great show.

I did the same thing for Babylon 5, worth every penny.

I never watched this show for the serialized plot... most of the "monster of the week" episodes were better.

I did like the first movie, though.

Does the woman remain a sceptic throughout the series despite literally seeing with her eyes the weirdest shit imaginable? Several seasons in it feels that way. So stupid.
I love the show but agree - Scully ignoring copious evidence of the supernatural in the name of Science became increasingly implausible and tedious as the show went on. Maybe it took the Sopranos for TV creators to risk dramatically evolving characters over time - before that they just had a winning dynamic and stuck with it as long as they could.

Yeah, that was a taaaad messed up. Fox could only air it the one time at first because people lost their minds. Very warped.
The writers on that one definitely had a "I DARE you to submit that" thing going Big Grin

That was all TV until the 2000's or so. If you wanted evolving characters that's what movies were for. On TV characters were predefined and always recognizable. Kind of the same concept of cartoon characters always wearing the same clothes.

Why, really? So this whole series ended on a cliffhanger because the director had a boner for cliffhangers? That sucks, I remember watching it a lot until Mulder and Scully got replaced somewhere along the way I remembered...
