You can do it in the BIOS, but the easiest way is to go into the MyASUS app, click on Device Settings, scroll to Memory Allocated to GPU and then in the Shared Memory Size, choose from the dropdown list between 1-8GB (in increments of 1GB), or Automatic.

You know that you can manually specify the maximum amount of ram allocated to the GPU, right? And that the ram itself is very fast 8533 MHz? And that Fn+F will cycle you through the 4 performance modes of the laptop (whisper, standard, performance and full speed)? If you do know those things, and still think this is a slow laptop, your expectations are too high for $450. For the money, this is an absolutely excellent deal.

Amazing to see some are nitpicking a $450 laptop with lunar lake CPU, OLED screen, good speakers, and good build. I bought two, and thinking another one. Only obvious issue is the fingerprint magnet case.

You're preaching to the Pope. I'm fully aware how memory works in Lunar Lake CPU's. I never inferred it was something a manufacturer could just "throw more RAM into". I said the 32GB model could be up to $500 more which is a ridiculous cost when it's nothing more than RAM that changes. And to be fair, the RAM is just normal LPDDR5X RAM like is soldered on system boards, but with Lunar Lake, it's part of the SoC (it's not actually part of the CPU die...the CPU die and the RAM are all part of one giant "chip" with the RAM chips soldered next to the CPU). You're basically paying in some cases $500 for a 16GB RAM chip.

EDIT: I did not remember this deal is for the Ultra 5, not the Ultra 7, so the cost difference isn't just for RAM -- you're also getting a better CPU.

I kind of felt the same way. It would honestly be a decent laptop if it just had a 120 hz ips screen. OLED on a budget laptop has to cut some corners so I would prefer to not have it.

Sounds like you were expecting flagship quality at a budget price point. You can't expect much. 1 Thunderbolt port, 60 Hz, serviceable OLED are all I would expect for the Vivobook line. If you wanted anything higher you should've at least looked for a Zenbook.

At $370 Open Box you accept/expect these short-comings

I just picked this up during Best Buys $450 in store. They had a $360 open box option which would've been such a deal but I figured $90 gets me a brand new one. why not. I've had 5 hours of screen time after the 5 hours of updates. and its running strong. Does my daily tasks fine. Good work laptop for normal use of canva/powerpoint/word. multiple tabs/applications running with no problem. This is a good first/daily laptop for everyday jobs. if youre a programmer/designer/videographer im sure you're not looking at this anyways. Battery life is 8+ hours a day. Might be less since i enabled battery saving mode so it charges to 80%. But thats all I need.
Is this the laptop for everyone? No but is it for most? Yes! Good quality. very light. Loud speakers (Harman/Kardon!!!!). Sleek dark design. USB A PORTS. My only complaint is, poor camera quality, just seems weak to me. Finger/oil print outer shell. So far so good after a day use. I don't myself doing more other than taxes, youtube, and maybe some lite-free games on it in the future.

I picked one of these up as an open box in perfect shape for $359.99 and it's been fantastic as a small travel laptop. Lots of people have commented on this laptop, but I want to mention something I haven't seen much comment on - gaming.

You do NOT have to limit yourself to "lite" or "free" games. The 130V integrated graphics in this laptop are quite good. If you're willing to turn down a few options (typically, reflections, shadows and anti-aliasing are good settings to play with first since they cause the greatest performance hit). Also, 14" is not a huge screen size, so you might also consider dropping resolution to something like 1280 x 800, 1440 x 900, or 1680 x 1050. I've been easily able to play things like Project Cars 2 and Insurgency Sandstorm at well over 60fps with mostly high/very high settings. Also, this laptop doesn't drop much performance on battery, and because the battery life on this laptop is fantastic, it's easily possible to game for hours this way.
For $359.99 I am more than a little impressed. I really like this little laptop.

I have the 32GB model bought couple of months ago. Terrific deal at this price. Battery life is great and screen is very good. With MBA available from 700 bucks onwards, there would be pressure on laptop prices for sure.
