Almost done reading the demon-haunted world. What an amazing mind this guy had.

That being said, this book (as well as the demon haunted world) are available for free on internet archive, for those who are boycotting Amazon, Google etc.

Shocked some fundie in the government hasn't told the current regime to ban uncle Carl yet. Maybe if he had spelled it Karl.

He's been dead for 20+ years. People did vehemently oppose his body of work in his day.

It is sad that Asimov's Cult of Ignorance observation remains accurate.

Is that by some mistake? I'm sure the book hasn't reached the USA copyright expiration date date.

How relevant is this book seeing as it was published in the 70s? I mean we've had so much research on the human brain in the past 50 years?

It's fundamentally a public library, my understanding is that it was donated. Similarly, most municipal public libraries can check this out as a free e-book.

It probably wouldn't withstand rigorous peer review if used as a source on an academic paper, but there's some merit to knowing the history of science

something I've learned from the demon haunted world is that this is not a unique American dilemma. ages of renaissance and regression come and go all over the world.... it is a seriously fascinating read, would highly recommend.
