Deal Details
"Switch and get iPhone 16e (128) GB for $299.99 on any new Verizon Prepaid Unlimited phone plan. Plus, get $300 in credits over 12 most."

This deal is similar to the Total and Straight Talk deals in the sense that the phone is priced at about $300 at the time of purchase, and also has the option of receiving $25/month for 12 months. Requires port in.

Verizon's prepaid Unlimited plan is $60/month ($50 after autopay), and Verizon's prepaid Unlimited Plus plan is $70/month ($60 after autopay).

Offer states that it ends on 3/27/25 "at Verizon stores" (probably consider going to a corporate store, even though the web page does not specify) and 4/7/25 online, or while supplies last.

Plus taxes and fees.

I can't see whether VZW prepaid Unlimited plan (or Unlimited Plus, though the Broadband Facts for Unlimited Plus does have an entry for ultra wideband, which is not in the Unlimited Plan Broadband Facts) has priority data or deprioritized data.

If someone was wanting to get the iPhone 16e, and

- Had good Verizon coverage in their area
- Was willing to sign up for Auto Pay
- Didn't need much hot spot data
- Wanted unlimited data
- Might be ok with deprioritized data

Then after the first month of service, you would have a phone for $300 and 12 months of service at $25 or $35 (plus taxes and fees on probably the original prices of $60 or $70).

Or could walk away after one month and have the phone unlock at 60 days.

Not the worst deal, probably not the best, but approximately on par with Straight Talk and Total. As well as Metro but with Metro the phone unlocks at 12 months (per their official policy).

I was considering switching to VZW because of data prioritization. My understanding is that all prepaid plans are de-prioritized. I believe the lowest tier contract plan ("Unlimited Welcome") is de-prioritized as well.

Yeah, it's not the best. I guess if somebody can just get the first month, then wait another month for the phone to unlock, then they could do a BYOD deal at Total Wireless and get unlimited priority data for $25, if the deal is still around when the phone unlocks. Need a number to port for this deal, though. I guess in that regard, Straight Talk allows for a new number (doesn't require a port), so maybe the Straight Talk deal is better for people who don't have a number to port already.

Why not existing customers? I could actually take advantage of this deal, maybe for the whole year. Of course it would make my existing line almost free, since unlimited as a 3rd or fourth line is only $30-35 on their prepaid.

Good point about multiple lines and the plan having a discount. I don't know, though it does say, "new Verizon Prepaid Unlimited phone plan" rather than "additional line on an existing plan." It doesn't give specifics about if you port out to something like Metro for a few days (though their BYOD $25 plan doesn't have hotspot so just keep that in mind if it matters), and then port back in before the end of the deal. And maybe get a new number along the way (it doesn't say Google Voice or Number Barn numbers are disallowed either). Or maybe not get a new line, if you are porting in as a Metro customer.

Since you have the prepaid unlimited plan, do you know if your data is prioritized or deprioritized?

I have post paid plan. Can I sign up to get a phone and cancel it right away?
I can't find the port in option for $25/month

I'm honestly not sure. I'm on Total Wireless currently and just went though the same with their version. I assume they care more about poaching prepaid users more than maintaining their own.

Prepaid Unlimited is deprioritized
Prepaid Unlimited Plus gets 50GB of prioritized data
50 GB premium network access,
then unlimited data
Get 50 GB of 5G / 4G LTE premium data per month. You'll also get DVD-quality up to 480p video streaming on 5G / 4G LTE. In times of congestion, your smartphone and Mobile Hotspot data may be temporarily slower than other traffic after exceeding 50 GB/mo/line of 5G / 4G LTE data.

I don't know if I'm deprioritized. I haven't had post paid Verizon in 15 years probably. I don't have unlimited on my line, just 15gb, but because mine is the main line, it's not worth the upgrade to unlimited for me. My other lines were maybe $5 additional to go from 15gb to unlimited.

Thank you for confirming the priority status for the unlimited plan options.

A big question for me is still how the phone will be treated once the 17 is out in 6 months. Will a 13 as a premium phone get you better trade ins than a 16e "SE3" replacement? Nobody knows. And what does this phone really do so much better than a 13/14 that you can pick up through so many deals right now? 🤔
Battery life? How is that Apple modem chip actuslly doing? Haven't heard anything about it yet. Can ig compete with Qualcom?

Why they never include the 256gb and 512gb deals? First carrier to include bigger sizes will sell alot more…

Chat line had told me that to Unlock 2 months of Active was necessary.
I had assumed only 1 month was necessary and had come up with $364 total.
Can someone shed light on this issue?

NVM I THOUGHT THIS WAS THE STRAIGHT TALK DEAL.
