Folks in Phoenix AZ, beaware..these did not survive the summers, got 4 sets when they went on clearance in store for 15 each.. each set wont work after the second summer. The metal set is all good.. the lsolar lights as such is a waste and goner.. jusy trashed them this Summer..they might be good for other places but not too hot places..

No. I Like solar. I also like to change designs or move them to where I want them. I have gutter lights from Home Depot that stay lit until 6 AM/ I lined my entire fence with them and they light up my entire side yard.

. And in the southern sun, nothing lasts anyway, from patio umbrellas to paint on cars. So disposable is easier to swap out

The issue with these is often that the batteries are shipped with minimal charge and they aren't high capacity to begin with, so they can ship with wear on them.

There's also no way for you to easily top them up when you get them, so you're stuck in a pattern of the batteries operating at minimal efficiency.

There are tons of ways to improve them, depending on how much you want to tinker. Some have removable batteries that are easy to swap.

What would be ideal would be one that lets you plug in a cheap battery bank via USB. That way, you can use whatever capacity you want and also charge it more reliably.
These don't have a port for rechargable battery do they? They are just strictly solar? Thanks for the detailed response!

They don't, but it would be nice if they did.

I'm sure it exists, albeit for more money.

There's DIY solutions even for the cheap $2 stake lights, though.

These things are amazing. So much better and brighter than home depot or lowes solar lights. I've had 12 of them for 2 years now and still all going strong.
Do you have this(20 lumen) or the 35Lumen?

Future trash, will last one or two years at most and won't be very bright. If you must have landscape lighting you should spend extra for proper low-voltage system.

They are on sale.. I paid 40 in store last year. Remember this golden rule. $.97 price endings in Costco indicate a clearance item.

How well do these do from hard water? I tried some solar lights in the yard but they usually got killed by the sprinklers.

Aesthetically look very nice but in my opinion the light is too dim and not as bright as it should be
