Is the FO32U2P the same as the NON-p?

Nvm found the answer, P has DP 2.1, while non-P uses DP1.4

Yea that rating report is not quite the same. The monitor listed at the price is 165hz. I am still strongly thinking about pulling the trigger on it

stay away from qd-oled if you use it in a lit room. the black levels are raised to magenta by ambient light hitting the qd layer.

Darn, I wish the GIGABYTE AORUS FO32U2P (sometimes called FO32U2 Pro) was on sale, too. It's the only monitor out there with these characteristics:
  • 32"
  • OLED
  • High Refresh
  • USB-C DP Alt with power delivery
  • USB KVM
  • DP 2.1 In
  • DP 1.4 Out (Daisy Chain)
It would allow me to have this monitor as gaming-capable and with a second monitor with both my work laptop and home desktop with minimal cables (just plug in one cable to the laptop and everything is connected.) My current setup of two 27" 1440p 60hz monitors with USB-C and daisy chaining just works and is awesome, but not great for gaming.

The Pro is currently $999: https://www.newegg.com/gigabyte-a...6824012082. It has one of the best RTings reviews that I've seen: https://www.rtings.com/monitor/re...us-fo32u2p

If I'm going to spring for the much higher price of an OLED monitor, I want it to do everything so that I won't be tempted to upgrade in a few years.

I just want to clarify for someone else wondering. I use the msi version of this monitor in a room with windows and even on a bright sunny day it is fine to use (I wouldn't recommend direct sunlight though my screen has the back to the window). It does looks a bit worse in those conditions but if you are thinking your monitor is going to look like its grape flavored and you won't be able to use it even casually that is not the case.

If you are trying to watch an hdr blue ray movie or see how cyberpunk pathtracing looks in perfect conditions than yeah cut off all the light or play at night and it will look better. But I just don't want people thinking this is unusable to watch youtube videos or play call of duty in a lit room. I play games and browse the internet/watch videos and usually don't even bother to close the blind or turn the lights off.

It ends up looking like a high end VA panel with better colors in high ambient light its not like you need a different monitor to browse the internet if someone turns a light on. I know alot of people like to have lights on or windows unblocked because it is less depressing and if you are worried about using it like that it is perfectly fine and when you need it to look perfect its easy to do so. Don't think buying a qdoled is a sentence to the dungeon.

Any reason you wouldn't just use RDP instead of a KVM? I remote into both my work desktop and work laptop from my home PC, which eliminates all cables except power and ethernet to them. I get 4k with high frame rates through gigabit switch and it is very responsive.

Can't speak to computer monitors specifically, but I have a 65" S95B in my living which has near floor to ceiling windows all around the TV and have never found the subtle magenta to be an issue or distracting. I only notice it on a full black screen, never in a real scene. I am, however, regularly taken aback by how amazing the picture looks. I also have a 42" C4 and 65" C9, both of which are WOLED. The picture quality improvements on QD-OLED are well worth the minor drawbacks, IMO, including, in my case, the lack of Dolby Vision support (thanks Samsung). Even in standard HDR, the QD-OLED exhibits much more vibrant colors, brighter highlights, etc.

this [imgur.com]is my qd oled (Samsung g61sd) on the left and va panel on the right in a room lit by one room light. you can clearly see the black level is very raised. both showing https://darkblackscreen.com/

also another example, where the pixelshift space on the monitor is highly visible vs the black outer bezel even though those pixels are off.

I did pull the trigger on this deal at $689. The monitor arrived quickly and I am enjoying the heck out of it. Makes a huge difference from my 8 year old led 60hz monitor
