Because some people are into old-school RPGs? I'm not into turn-based random encounter games, but I don't yuck other people's yum.

Chrono Trigger is slightly higher price than Apple/Google Appstore, but I prefer Windows version.
Still the cheapest price and must-play legendary game.

Real shame that Just Cause 4 ended up being a downgrade from 3.

IDK how people can bare playing through the older ones like FF7. The combat is dated and there are random encounters every 5 steps. I tried playing through FF7 for first time a couple days ago and had to just stop like 10 minutes in.

I just don't see how NieR: Automata is still this expensive. It is from 2017 and if you look on isthereanydeal this price is an all time low. $16 for an 8 year old game. Do they think this game is RDR or GTA or maybe CoD charging this much?

I see it more as a helpful reminder to people who are used to modern conveniences... Playing Persona, Dragon Quest, modern FF's etc are very different from what we grew up with...

For anyone considering Life is Strange - you absolutely should buy it, it's an incredible game. But you might also consider getting the original non-remastered version, which is $4 more.

The remastered version improves the graphics on the characters' hair and certain parts of the scenery, but also includes some bugs, bad lighting, and bug-eyed looks on characters' face. Overall I think it's better to play the original version which doesn't have distracting visual problems, even if it does look better in certain scenes.

I finally picked up FF7 and chronotrigger on steam. I'm looking forward to modding FF7 like crazy for a fresh experience.

I've never used steam or played these older games on PC but do they look like absolute pixelated garbage? I mean you're taking a game that already looked like pixelated polygon trash when it was run on an old school tube tv/monitor at like 380x240 native resolution in low fidelity which made it borderline tolerable…. then you put this same thing on a digital display at 10x the resolution and blow it up on a 60" tv such basically makes MineCraft look like cutting edge CGI…

Not trying to be negative but like FF7 on PC or any other game that is just taken in existing format and thrown onto modern displays without any updates to graphics or pixel smoothing etc looks like you're moving Tetris blocks around the screen.

The only way I've ever found this tolerable is using an emulator with graphics engines like Super Eagle or whatever they were, with interlacing cut on to obfuscate the harsh pixel corners etc.

Again, not trying to be a troll or whatever. It's a legit question.

I was a massive fan of the final fantasy games and chrono trigger etc on the original platforms - and I can admit they even looked horrible in original form. Think like FF7/FF8 and the infancy of polygon based graphics where they felt 3-4 polygons was a well defined character. How about like maybe Barrett's hands in FF7 lol.. two squares. One per hand.

So where are they at now with this? They still just repackaging without bothering to update a single thing for an easy cash grab?

Thanks for any input.

So your comment piqued my interest and I checked out what mods are available. I have to say thank you! It even has a mod organizer and mods readily available in the software ready to download and properly sorted too. I can also enable/disable random encounters at will! Game is so freaking awesome now and bringing back lots of memories.
