Called into T-Mobile today because I got a text saying my plan is increasing by $5/line since my older T-Mobile One plan has been the same price for 8 years. The rep told me that there is a targeted offer available to some older plans that started today 3/13/25. Bring your own device and get a free line. I had to pay $10 for a sim card, but they were able to credit me $10 to my account.

Worth a try to call in if you have an older plan. YMMV.

This is the plan that I have. It is 2 paid lines and then I added a free line when they were running a promo years ago.

I did not receive any notification on the T-Life app about a free line this time around. I don't think I've ever been eligible for any other free lines. I don't think I can even add an extra paid line without it being a crazy price from what I remember when I chatted a few years ago to see about adding another line. I think this plan is maxed out on free lines.

yes, if you add a line to this plan, it'll most likely convert it to Magenta. Offshore reps may not know it.

**BE AWARE!!!**

Let me tell you about my experience with this mess.

I am on the T-Mobile One plan (FRLTULF2) with three paid lines and five free lines. I received this offer on the T-Life app. I called the number on the ad, and the rep seemed knowledgeable. He mentioned that he had the same plan with many free lines and was happy to see another customer with a similar setup.

I asked him at least five times if this would affect **anything** on my plan, and he repeatedly assured me that it wouldn't. He even contacted his higher-ups to confirm and said that nothing would change, I wouldn't lose any discounts, including my five free lines and the insider discount. So, I told him to add the line.

An hour later, I received ten text messages saying me that I had been unenrolled from my discounts, losing the five free lines discount and the insider discount.

I called back and spoke to another rep. She explained that since I already had more free lines, I wasn't eligible for this offer in the first place. Adding this "new" free line automatically unenrolled me from all my existing promotions.

After spending **two hours** on the phone, I managed to get my five free lines reinstated and canceled the "newly" added free line. But, she couldn't restore the insider discount herself. She sent an email to the other department and told me it could take 2–3 days for them to add the insider discount back to my account.

one plan with 7 free lines

Can you please help me out and DM me. I want to show T-Mobile that my family member lol has the same line and you can block out any personal info but just with the current promo code or whatever and any proof just cuz they're starting to really piss me off especially with the $5 price increase that I'm still going to file on FTC and FCC complaint with

You didn't manage to get anything reinstated. What happened is that you were on the 2-8 line plan and they had to move you to the 9-12 line plan in order to add a line. When that happens the system automatically un-enrolls you from all promotions and then within minutes re-enrolls you again. No discounts are lost and you may likely see a bill reduction by switching to the 9-12 line plan.

So, you're saying that if I didn't call to get it "corrected," I would potentially get the 6th line for free while keeping my other 5 free lines and the insider discount?

I've had similar issue a few years back with a "free line" and a (free?) phone. It was an offshore rep, who either had no idea what she was doing or maybe they are getting bonuses for selling\converting to more expensive plans. Took some time to revert back to my original plan and insider discount was applied manually a few times.

Yes. I am venturing a guess that your bill would probably go down even if the 6th free line wasn't free for some reason. Has to do with the billing of the 9-12 line plans

For comparison, I am also on ONE with 4 paid/5 free lines and my monthly total is $165 before / $145 after Kickback and that is after the price hike (I was part of last year's increase). No Insider on my account.

Not really sure about this. It was two hours after the unenrollment message, and I still didn't have the discount. The rep spent a while trying to bring it back but kept saying the system wouldn't let her add it and had to make some calls. Guess we'll never know now.

3 Paid + 5 free lines = $112/mo after insider and kickback discounts

Old or new insider? If it's the old version then adding a paid line to your account would most likely even save you a few bucks. I assume the $112 is before the price increase?

Idk old or new, I had it for 2-3 years on my account. I just got price increase notice so it'll be $15/more

Consider this. 9 lines on ONE after price hike = $355 before Autopay. Every line credits $30 up to line 9, with 5 free lines that's $165 right there after $40 Autopay. Check your last bill if Insider is calculated off your plan price before (old) or after discounts (new). If old Insider your discount would be $71, if new $33. That is without any Kickback.

So you'd be looking at either $94 (old) or $132 (new) before Kickback and including the increase. And you'd get an extra line. If that line happens to be free because the promo kicks in, you'd be even $24 lower than my quotes.
